How many antidepressants have you all tried? I’m on my fourth and possibly transitioning to a fixity because the current one isn’t working. I’ve now done Genesight testing and I was prescribed Pristiq. It hasn’t reduced my anxiety at all. I was wondering if anyone else had to try many medications? And if so, did you eventually find one that worked?
I’ve tried 5 different antidepressants, trying Pristiq soon. I also did genesight testing. You’re not alone. Antidepressants do work for a lot of people with ocd, anxiety, and depression. Don’t listen to the other comment. While laughing helps, it’s not the remedy for everyone. Don’t lose hope, I haven’t yet :)

I've been on many different antidepressants and sometines it takes try multiple to find the right one. While it's does help tremendously with my OCD it doesn't completely help 100%. That where your coping skills are going to have to play a part with it.
I’m sorry to hear you’re going through a rough time. Going through anxiety was awful but ERP has really helped me.
Lexapro and prozac, at least for my ocd. They both worked but I struggled to get out of bed with Lexapro. Prozac was easier to start, worked quicker, found it worked just as well at night as in the morning, and had no problem just taking two smaller doses throughout the day to get the benefits during the day and at night. Felt I had my personality still and could be still be sad/happy when I needed to. I did need ERP a little more on Prozac, and you kind of need anxiety to do ERP, but yeah, it's really trial and error,
Lexapro worked at first but then when I went off and back on it it made me depressed and suicidal. Wellbutrin was the WORST thing I’ve ever tried not even sure what classification it falls in but I was up for 3 days straight couldn’t sleep horrible increase in anxiety. Paxil is my only solid one that’s worked. I was on it for several years but just had another baby and had to get off and have been trying to stay off because of the weight gain it causes. Besides no sexual desire and weight gain and the inability to cry it really did change my life and help so much with the ocd.
Honestly antidepressants don’t work, that shit won’t fix what’s wrong in up in there. Try laughing it’s the best medicine remember
Lexapro. OCD. Depression tried alot. Lexapro helps lozapram help a lot. That was the hospital. Lozapram completely. Help alot. Lexapro helps. Still repeating the same words. Used to be worse
Hey friends, I hope you all are well. I just wanted to check in and ask people's experiences about being on medication. I have had OCD pretty much my whole life, just got recently diagnosed 4 months ago and my therapist recommended that I get on meds for it so I have a psychiatrist appointment set up. I'm a little apprehensive about getting on them, but I've realized that I do have some sort of chemical imbalance in my brain that plays a part in my OCD and anxiety. I’m working with a new psychiatrist for medication. She suggested both prozac or luvox. wondering what has worked for people or any suggestions
I was diagnosed with OCD and I started Prozac 10 days ago. I have struggled with intrusive taboo sexual thoughts for 12+ years (I’m 24) but now I feel like it’s turning into feelings. I’ve never done anything to anyone or nor do I wish to ever. I am just scared of my own brain if this is something I actually want. My psychiatrist said I should feel better/start getting clarity after 2 weeks. But I keep feeling worse and worse. Anyone else has experience with Prozac and how it went for them?
