I think this is a big breakthrough for you , realizing things dont have to be black and white good or bad , maybe just a meh day and that's okay. Im working on the same thing .

It really is two steps forward, one step back. But I think just about all of us on here experience the same thing. Hang in there!

I do the same thing bro! You seem very self aware and smart. For example, I was doing great for over 4 weeks never seeking reassurance or having relationship OCD thoughts and issues. One bad day made it flare up and the past few days have been rough. I have to do better on giving myself grace and not being so tough on myself. It indeed is not a straight line. It’s like I’m climbing a staircase and I drop something so I gotta walk back down a few steps to be able to keep moving forward

I have learnt that one of the hardest things to do with magical thinking ocd is to accept the unavoidable changes in life. We try so hard for everything to stay the same when it is good, that any change feels like we have no control over our lives. At least me. It is soooo hard. Just to point it out as an interesting thing, we all here have magical thinking ocd. Not that we should celebrate or anything like that, 🥴, it just feels comforting to know there are other people going through stuff people usually find strange and silly (read crazy). I have emotional and thought contamination ocd which is basically magical thinking ocd, and it can get unimaginably hard. Thank all of you for spreading positivity. 🤗🍀😸
