I just got on lexapro!!!
I’m so happy for you and so proud of you! Virtual hugs <3
Thank you!! 🫂
Yayyy!! I hope it works out for you!! 🩷
Me too girl, my anxiety has been so bad🥲
Ok, thanks for responding. I wish you the best. I know it takes time. I have had many side effects but they started going away and then when they increased the amount they said I may start to feel them again but they should not last long. I have had them again but am hoping they go away soon.
I’m taking my first dose tonight lol same
Good for you. They started me one the .5mg as well but now I am taking 10. The side effects kicked in about the second week and I was greatful when they were gone. Now that I moved up to 10mg they have returned but should be short lived I was told. I wish you all the Best!!! You can ask me anything if you want. Take care!😊
@Anonymous Ooo the second week? That's about when the doctor wanted to check in with me. What has been your worst side effect so far?
Can I ask what OCD Conqueror means?
@Anonymous Ofc! I believe on this app it just means that you've successfully gone through therapy sessions and you're comfortable with ERP. Which means that you're on a healthy journey to successfully managing your ocd
@Andrew Escobar Yes, the first week I did nit have any. Then I started with headaches, and GI issues. I was either nautious, constipated, or had diarrhea. UGH! I actually get frequent headaches so I may have had a headache before the second week and just thought it was gone of my usual ones. However, once I really noticed that it was like one headache after another and that they felt like my head hurt on the crown of my head which is not what my headache's usually feel like I knew it was a side effect. I do not, however, have many GI issues ...hardly ever so it was easy to tie those with the medication for sure. And at least the majority of those headaches in that second week were likely from it, too, cuz they felt different for sure. Hard to day what was the worst cuz they headaches hurt but so did my stomach. The nautiousness started the first time when we had an outing so I did not want to eat much it that point. I had that for a period of days up to a week but theheadaches and other GI issues a bit longer.
@Andrew Escobar Ofc?
@Anonymous Eee that doesn't sound very pleasant, how have your anxiety levels been?
@Anonymous Oh sorry, I mean of course!
@Andrew Escobar Did your go through NOCD? I tried but found out my Blue Cross Blue Shield was not taken. I have a,therapist and sought out a PSYCHIATRIST but literally just found out he only handles the medication part so he is referring me to the person who does the therapy part. Now I have to wait to hear from that person. Ugh!
@Andrew Escobar Oh..lol
@Anonymous No I didn't, unfortunately I'm in the same boat. They didn't take Medicare so I had to find a therapist myself.
@Andrew Escobar No not pleasant but I must admit the symptoms,do not last too long. I am sort of already accustomed to getting many headaches but these were a,bit different. Like I said, now that they increased the nedicine as I told them I really did not see much of a difference, I am going through the,same side effects again. Doctor said today that hopefully they won't last long and that if the medicine begins to work more it will be all good. I am noticing a little bit of an improvement. It sometimes,just feels like I don't respond to my ocd the same way I was before. I am not 100% sure if it is,the lexapro by itself or not. I had alewady been takinh an as needed prescription medicine and sometimes rhat helps too so for me I cannot be 100% sure but if I had to take a,guess I think the lexapro is beginning to do something and I take the other medication as beeded and that hwlps I know but i knew it was more for anxiety and depression and not really ocd but from what doctor said today lexapro is for all three...anxiety depression, and ocd.
@Andrew Escobar I understand. Then how does this app know you did that?, I have a,therapist, a,psychologist, and now that I found out that he only does the medication part he is referring me to the doctor who does the therapy part. The therapist I already have practices psychodynamic therapy but this new doctor practices (CBT,and Exposure therapy). I like the therapist I already have. She isvery nice, listens well and is very perceptive!
@Anonymous Hmm well I think to reach that you do unfortunately have to do therapy through the app, which is sad but it's okay! It's not a necessary thing to succeed in your journey. Simply showing off that you're learning how to manage your ocd!
@Andrew Escobar I did not know you could do therapy through this app. But does it take insurance? I am confused. So sorry.
@Andrew Escobar What app.do you mean? I thought you did not go through NOCD.
@Anonymous I didn't, I'm still a contributor! :)
@Anonymous Yes, it does you can click on the therapy button on the lower middle part of your screen
May I ask if it is helping and how much you are taking cuz I recently started that and do not notice much difference at all and they just increased it and I am waiting to see if that will help but so far there is not any difference. It might be too soon.
Well considering I just got the prescription I am not going to notice any changes. But, right now I am taking 5 mgs! I've been on Prozac before and it messed me up pretty bad. I'd say just wait it out and watch out for any bad side effects. Side effects of escitalopram - NHS https://share.google/ZRIQ3uqnhVWjFNCGa
I just got diagnosed with ocd and she suggested I think about taking lexapro for it. Has anybody tried that and does it help at all?
Hi everyone, I’m 23 and have been on Zoloft since I was 16. For the past couple months I’ve been having panic attacks more and I’m sick of feeling like a zombie everyday. My boyfriend said I’m very sad and unhappy then when I first met him 2 years ago…. He thinks it’s the medicine. Throughout the years I have upped and lowered my medication, but now, I feel as though it’s not helping. Either it was too much where I didn’t feel emotions at all like very scary stuff or it wasn’t enough to help me. I was given 5mg of Lexapro to try…. I’m scared to take it. All I know is how Zoloft is. I don’t want to go crazy on it, be allergic to it, etc. I feel like I’m going to trip myself out when I take it and not actually feel the difference. I could really use some positive feedback I really just want to be a normal human😭
day 2 , I’ve been taking it at night. the nausea is unreaaaallll. I also woke up in panic but since I got off Zoloft I’ve kinda been doing that. Hope it gets better 🥹
