I'm pretty sure all people with OCD fear that their obsessions are true or could come true, that's why we do compulsions. I don't think the whole "gut feeling" thing works for people like us unfortunately, but that's just my personal opinion. I'd say morals are the best compass when it come to ocd. I have rocd too so I know how extremely stressful it is. Keep in mind that love is a choice not a feeling; this doesn't mean that you have to force yourself to be with someone you don't like being around, but if you do enjoy their presence it's a good thing to remember. When I first started dating my boyfriend I picked apart everything about him from his personality traits to his appearance. I was terrified, so I thought I hated him in a way even though I knew something about him was really special. Every reason why I SHOULDN'T date him crossed my mind, but some dark corner in my brain knew that all of these doubts and mean things my thoughts were saying about him were lies. I stuck it out and now I want to spend the rest of my life with him. The doubts are still there sometimes, but all I need to do is ground myself and look at him for what he truly is. I know easier said than done. Don't let OCD stop you from being in a relationship if you want to be. Good luck :) ❤

@Shanny For me to stick around it took my first relationship failing. I had really bad rocd and I decided to break it off with the dude because I was so scared. Later on a realized there was potential in the relationship, but I had also moved on and their were no sad feelings. It made me to decide to try to give my next relationship as long of a chance as possible and I'm really glad I did.

@Shanny Just don't beat yourself up too much if you find that fear coming back in relationships. That's the nature of OCD.
