"adult" is a social construct; 18 is just an arbitrary age that we as a society have decided makes you legally autonomous. but everyone matures differently, and nothing magically changes when you turn 18 (besides some laws, of course). I am 26 now, and I have changed a LOT since I was 18. What about becoming an adult is most worrying to you?

@Clara_and_ellie Don’t apologize, I get that! Part of becoming an adult is definitely grieving childhood and letting go of those childhood experiences that you won’t have again. So I totally understand. But when one door closes, another opens and you get to enjoy the perks of adulthood! Which are also really great

We can’t live in the past or the future. All we can do is to live in the present. We can take deep breaths and remind ourselves to live in the present.

Hey friend! I turn 33 this year and I'm not going to sit here and say getting older is fun, for a lot of people it's not and that's okay. I find the things that are most important (from someone who may have ocd) is making sure you're comfortable at home and that it's a place you can truly wind down and relax. Second is it's so important to learn about the world around you, no matter how scary or upsetting it can be. Learning and practicing will make you feel more capable so do hard things as you get older and they will feel easier and come more naturally. Additionally you will get told a lot that you should know better as an adult but the truth is, most adults don't know jack and we are flying by the seat of our pants. Don't trust people who act like they know everything and have seen it all!

@Clara_and_ellie Then I would say it sounds like you have a good grasp on time and age 😌 really age is mostly a number, and there are parts of you that will evolve and some things that will stay the same. Embrace it all!!
