I was massively triggered by a post of some guy who realized he was gay and just used hocd as a cover. This is the biggest fear of mine, because often times, I feel like I’m a pathetic liar. I just don’t know anymore

I know how you feel trust me. I feel almost as if I’m some kind of psychopath. And I feel this to some extent every single day But it’s all part of anxiety. OCD IS an anxiety disorder. What it is, is anxiety that is pretty much severe enough to make you think that you are a nut job It’s very hard to remember that we are healthy and safe people. We just think about all kinds of crazy possibilities. That’s our downfall. Please don’t think you are sick in the head We have to break these mind patterns before we spiral

No no no ..... this is what ocd wants you to believe. I may sound crazy but like 5 minutes ago I was about to take myself to the hospital because I thought I was going nuts with intrusive thoughts. I know this is hard. But look at how you are doing right now. You NOTICED that it was a big trigger for you. And that’s a HUGE step in realizing that that’s your biggest fear. I have suicidal OCD and I recently hit a BIG low. Just right now. Because my OCD was telling me that I was lying to myself about loving life. And wanting to die. Sometimes it’s SO incredibly convincing you just want to end it all in one shot. But @tiaaa please stay fighting this. I need to ask you. Have you been sleeping? Are you exercising too? Please be honest. If you are taking meds maybe your meds are messing with you

Yes, I’ve slept, but I also had one coffee, after taking a break from it. So I fell asleep, much much harder

And also if you haven’t been sleeping that’s a sign that your brain is tired

Okay so what I want you to do is ride out your racing thoughts. Even thought you wanna just stop everything , what I try to do when I feel this way is call someone and talk about it even though it’s scary. If I say it that means it will go away faster. But if you don’t want to talk about it but these thoughts stay in your head I recommend to not be so hard on yourself ( easier said than done ) and go through the motions Let the thoughts stay. But also try to watch a movie you’ve been wanting to watch for a while or read a good book. Even if you’re upset. Distracting yourself will help ease the panic

And If you need to yell , scream or cry or punch something i think beating up your pillow helps release all the bad anxiety Or if you want to get physical you should walk around outside

Thank you so much I just feel sometimes that this is a burden way harder to have then I am capable of carrying. I have been to one therapist and she told me I don’t have ocd, it’s just anxiety. But the thing is, ocd is not really advanced in my country, mental health in general is not. I want to have proffesional help but I can’t
