Hi! It was harm ocd with existential ocd and also feeling/thinking I was going crazy/psychotic or would develope more mental disorders etc. But I have learned that it doesn’t actually matter which subset or theme of ocd you have as this can change it’s just how the brain reacts... hope that answers your question :)

Good for you for getting treatment you have made such a big step !! :) it all depends on what kind of therapy you are getting are you doing erp??? If so they generally start you off slow and easy and build your hierarchy to help you tackle your obsessions with exposures etc. Intensive therapy gets hard but you have to be very willing to go through the pain ... good news is it really works if you put 100% into it! Good luck with your treatment :)

Hi :) when I first started a year ago I made a few mistakes, I tried to do a few exposures a week and let in the intrusive thoughts that naturally came in but I wasn’t doing it daily which I learned was actually what I needed.... building your hierarchy is best, as you can start with the things that bother you less and work towards the bigger ones... when I relapsed I realized I wasn’t tackling my biggest fears enough and that’s when I started doing exposures about 3 times a day for 20 min everyday... i did it that much for about a month then I only did it once a day for 15 min and now after 3 months I just do preventative so a few times a week.. generally though I give myself one intrusive thought that used to bother me daily just to keep up with things, though the thoughts barely bother me I still do it.... I’d start easy first (maybe once a day on the stuff that bothers you less) work your way up and then get to the deep stuff and set out to do it a lot !! You need to feel like crap for a bit before you get better! I mentally prepared for the intensity and told my support system things were gonna get a bit rough, having support helped immensely and gearing up for it like it’s a mental battle your going to win can help too! It took about a year to fully get to where I am now, but I think it would have been only 6 months if I didn’t make those first mistakes! But everyone’s journey is difffent! Hope that answers your question and good luck :)
