This week I finally said to hell with it and I started to write the book I’ve always wanted to write!
I'm also doing this! Wishing you well in your writing journey!
@glitterstitch Haha thanks, I write poetry for card companies for a living and I’ve tried multiple times to start a book but I always leave them half finished, this time I’m writing about my OCD recovery journey and it seems to be flowing!
@Brad1991 Love that so much for you! I get the half finished stuff for sure, that happens to me as well! I think it's super neat that writing about your OCD recovery journey is flowing for ya :) I'm rooting for you!
My win this week was starting therapy!

I never cried due to a spiral, actually in a while! Ocd has been dormant lately, its been heaven

I got triggered by a movie in the first few minutes and was able to work through it and finish the movie!
I got a new pet! A regal jumping spider named Boo!

i got 98% on a french test 😭
Started writing a submission that's due at the end of the month, ate breakfast and lunch today, and responded to a friend I haven't talked to in a while!
I suffer with terrible health OCD but I made it into seeing my primary for a check up and got blood work done
I got engaged and while that is seriously amazing in and of itself - it was a massive event and did not trigger a flare in compulsions 🙌

I started writing a play inspired by my OCD journey. I hopefully keep up with it and not quit after a couple of days.
I had an idea for a fanasty short story about a group of heros fighting through different aspects of OCD. It sparks ideas for sure
I decided to stop smoking weed - if not forever, for a long time
being anxious and still moving forward
I was able to recognize an intrusive thought and let it go!
I am dating someone for the first time!! She asked me out this week!!
I've managed to stay calm. Worry rarely comes, but at least it's not like it used to be.

I brushed my teeth twice a day, every day this week! And flossed each time, too!
Doing exposures for my sexual intrusive thoughts!
Got my nails long enough to apply fake ones! 🤩
I stopped my night ritual of checking the front door lock! :-]
I spontaneously went to Home Depot to buy paint and picked a random color I really liked for a dresser and went home and painted it without second guessing everything in the process!!
Im new and not diagnosed yet but I now deep down that I have OCD. And I was nourvus to tell my brother in law and finally told him and I called and got the courage to finally get the help I need
Today I chose to push through the intrusive thoughts and continue doing what I wanted instead of giving up/giving into sitting and ruminating. 😮💨🙌🏻
Surviving the week. Im a 6th grader and I'm a GATE student and in a few of my classes there are a few mean kids that barrels made it in the GATE program when they tested, and my temper went up but I'm glad I didn't yell or punch them

My win this week was being able to work through three exposures with my therapist
This week I wrote a long essay for college that I had been dreading, and did it with little to no ocd interruptions or thought about my health anxiety ❤️

I called my aunt and a friend this week! I've been really struggling with soicalizng and taking up space in my home. I slept in my partners bed 3 nights in a row which might not seem like a big deal but is for me.
I used my RPMs in a moment of extreme distress when I couldn’t sleep. I was able to regulate and then fall asleep
Recognizing that my body was tired and my mind was wired, instead of believing the topic of the evening was the actual problem.
I'm back in the gym and I'm going to Vietnam in February.
Im down to one appointment a week instead of two and im doing fantastic
I finally stopped to question if my “gut feelings” about catastrophic consequences were accurate and recognized they were OCD! 😄
I implemented some of my exposure scripts when a work situation got very triggering, worked through the anxiety and saw it through calmly. It felt so powerful after a few pretty rough weeks.
I made it 4 days straight no self medicating with alcohol!

I started my first assessment today! It went very well! I’ll be continuing my treatment and see where it takes me.
I've almost finished the audio book I've been postponing even starting for over a year. Worth the time, and feeling like I can appreciate it more now.
I finally sprayed the lawn to get rid of the weeds, changed the filter to my AC/furnace, nearly filled my trash bin, and got rid of (delivered) some things I was saving for a friend. Getting unstuck....
I made a difficult choice about school that had been stressing me out for weeks and I'm am proud that I was able to do that 😁💪
Even in the midst of mourning my brother’s suicide I challenged myself and did some exposures 😅🙌🏻
I haven’t created art for so long because I convinced myself that I wasn’t a ‘real’ artist and people can tell by my brush strokes. But I finally painting something today and even did a few sketches :)
I’ve finally gotten into the habit of getting out of the house every day and been going on long walks :-)
I watched a drug commercial and didn't catastrophize thinking that I needed it and was gonna die if I didn't, I mean I did, but I didn't Google for reassurance

Got to share my OCD story at a men’s group this week while teaching on the book of Job in the bible. I was able to explain the difference between obsessive compulsive personality disorder, and obsessive compulsive disorder. The men were great had lots of questions and most of them had no idea what OCD is. Praise God for the opportunity to share.
The Book of Job helped me through this OCD episode 🙌

I ate off a placemat that I perceived to be contaminated from spray paint. I just really didn't want to waste the food when it fell off my plate
