I have! Look up Jackie Lea Sommers’s blog on HOCD. It’s kind of focused toward women, but it’s still encouraging!! Please don’t be hopeless, we’re all in this together

To be completely honest it's not really the thoughts that bother me as much anymore. It is the deep pit of depression where they have put me

?do you see someone?

That’s because OCD in general isn’t something you “get over” it’s chronic. Yes themes may wax or wane, but it’ll always be there. You just have to manage it and try your best to live your life regardless

That sounds saddening, tbh..

@Adrianos Which part lol

@Adrianos I’m sorry that made you sad :( but it’s just part of treatment is accepting that it may never fully go away.

@strugglebusman The "it'll always be there".. why can't we all just team up and suckerpunch it to death? :(

@Esosa Agreed, but tbh it makes my pessimistic self think "well, what's the point then?"

@Adrianos I wish that OCD was an actual entity that we could all gang up on and beat to death ???

This makes me so sad :( I know how you feel when things feel hopeless! I don’t have hocd but everyone thinks their particular theme is the worst ... however, with intensive erp therapy my ocd is pretty much gone... once you do therapy you realize you can live with it, and once you fully accept and go through exposures etc your brain actually learns to habituate so even tho u have ocd forever it just kind of goes to sleep and when it wakes up once in awhile you just say hi what’s up and it goes back to sleep again.... trying so hard to push away the ocd is actually what makes us sufferers worse! Because we try so desperately to push thoughts away and even the ocd... I know it’s hard, I was in literal hell with my ocd it was pretty much ruining my life, erp therapy was the hardest thing I ever did but it saved me! I suggest trying it as soon as you can because ocd is actually one of the most treatable disorders! Best of luck!

Wish it were that easy for me but I appreciate the input

Lol I promise you it’s not easy. It takes a lot of practice to get to the point where you can think those things and be okay. I had a dream where I was turned on by a girl and it undid all my progress so now I’m off the wagon again. Seriously, HOCD is the literal worst!

@nervousanchovy99 I really appreciate that. I've experienced mental health issues before but these past few months it has been worse than ever

Yeah all I wanna do is sleep. Like sleep is gonna cure my problems

I think of sleep more like a pain reliever rather than a cure, actually.

I’ve overcome it! Using CBT with a therapist. And it no longer bothers me. I have moved onto other themes unfortunately, but I’ve had the same happen with other themes too. Please keep your head up. Most people on here write posts mostly when they’re struggling and need advice, not when they’re feeling awesome and have been for awhile.

I still struggle, but I try to just be open to the ideas. If you stop giving them so much attention, they’ll lose power

That's the exact point I'm at right now

Well, don't really have much advice then, tbh

Not at all looking for advice, just trying to express my dumbass emotions.

Not at all dumbass, actually. I kinda experience the same thing too, tbh. Some days when I think that I may never really get rid of this stupid ass monster's whispers, it's like "oh, well why should I bother?" and I go back to sleep lol
