A funny thing happened.

@NotAgain I find it’s a way to channel my anxiety and regrets. I use it to sort of get my intrusive thoughts out and make everyone see them for what they are. I use it to process my shame of who I am. It’s why my writing is so disturbing. Because it comes from the parts of me that I try to hide. Sorry, that’s kind of a angsty thing to say but that’s how I feel when I write.

@SAGUI I don't think it's angsty! I do that a lot too, both in my fictional writing and my more poetic things. Sometimes I'll just write generally without a genre too. Usually very dark things though. It helps to get it out and I feel expressed in a way.

@NotAgain The first page of my book is a guy torturing some guy in a janitors closet and then cremating his body.

@SAGUI It is fascinating to write the story of someone who's bad or doesn't have it all figured out. There's a morbid curiosity In getting into their heads and trying to figure out how they operate. I personally write a lot of my darker stories with depressing, violent, or mentally ill themes. Mostly about self harm, suicide, mental breakdows, or torture. Sometimes it's cathartic to my OCD and sometimes, like in the case of the self harm or breakdown stories, it can be like venting.

@NotAgain Same, it’s a way for me to vent. About intrusive thoughts. I try to not take myself too seriously when it comes to writing. I mostly just do it because I either want someone to write a story and I know unless I do it will never exist or I want to write something that’s therapeutic. Like, the guy in my story has symptoms of OCD that are related to him being a horrible person. Like, a really horrible person. And all of sudden when he tried to be good a bunch of guys who were using him as a porn star killed his father figure which is why he was torturing a guy in the janitor’s closet.
