Your wins matter

Well, during the week I have had lots of times when I’ve had intrusive thoughts and feelings and I’ve still gotten through the days and I’m actually struggling right now with some thoughts and feelings and I’m struggling with like sitting with them and I find myself worrying about them and worrying if they will be here the whole day but I know I’m gonna get through it

I’m really proud of myself for this past week to be able to identify specific OCD thoughts, something that has been really difficult for me

I started tracking each time I performed a certain compulsion, at my worst I want to say it was dozens of times a day, once I started tracking last week it was around 10, and now I’ve had 5 days with either 0 or 1 time I engaged in the compulsion!

i challenged my ocd by talking to my partner about how i was feeling instead of just shutting down!

Did not leave work early once this week for the first time in a very long time

This week, I've had lots of exposures. Some days have been better than others and some days, the intrusive thoughts have gotten the better of me. But I've been able to function and drive places with little to no anxiety. Progress is progress, no matter how small!

Haven’t done any checking / googling / chatgpt’ing since Tuesday!!! Since i’ve stopped doing those compulsions, i’ve felt a bit of relief

I stayed at a haunted hotel! Usually my OCD gets in the way of me enjoying hotels no matter how clean and nice it is. But I had a really good time despite a few OCD tickles.

Challenged myself and did mini exposures in the midst of a very stressful season with work and finishing grad school 👊🏻

I'm just starting my OCD therapy journey. I hate the intrusive thoughts, but I'm glad I'm working towards getting better!

I was gonna write something about rest, but that wasn't my win. I relaxed this week. It was a ton of work and stress on my mind, a ton of ERP. But I'm fed, sleeping, hydrated and physically relaxed. I woke up feeling pretty good this morning. I didn't win anything better than that. It was a ton of effort and won't last. Still 100% worth it. 😁 My back feels great today.

i’ve been in ERP therapy for almost 2 months and i’ve been feeling like i’m not making any progress, but i took some time today to sit and think about where i was before therapy and realized ive improved in some areas! before starting therapy i thought there was no hope & no fixing my mental health, so im feeling really hopeful & proud of myself for putting in the work 🙂

I'm a couple months into erp treatment and I think it's starting to work! I'm now just responding to thoughts, "maybe that makes me a bad person/narcissist/selfish/etc, I don't know". I'm also watching videos that trigger my "wait am I like that" spiral and just telling myself, "yeah this could be about me". To start I had to delete all search engines off of my phone so I have to wait to google symptoms. I'm surprised but it's actually taken the anxiety down from 100% to 70%. Next I'm trying to work on social triggers and rumination!! A couple months ago I was so depressed I was crying constantly, calling helplines, and barely getting by. Now I'm starting to enjoy socializing again without asking for constant reassurance, and getting stuff done with less worrying if I'm doing it with the right intentions.

I did my homework and reached out to my therapist on a hard day.

I've had a flare-up this week. I can't say I've handled it perfectly, but it was way better than the last one! I feel like I'm starting to come out of it now, and I'm proud of myself! Also, I'm so proud of all the wins I've read on here, we got this!

I went to therapy for the first time in a while and I felt like I really clicked with my therapist. Finally. I’ve been looking for the right therapist forever

I have been doing my best to try and accept a difficult thought and respond with uncertainty.

I decided to confront someone in my life and be honest instead of being worried about keeping the peace. I usually keep things in because I can’t handle conflict. But I feel confident in my beliefs and my feelings now.

My anxiety around my OCD thought has become less urgent. Still have anxiety and urges but they are quieter and more bearable compared to what it was!

I guess if I had any wins. I would say it’s what I realize after the fact, when I gave in to the OCD thoughts when I acted out on the OCD thoughts or when I just made a mistake….at least I can see the mistake as learning lesson. If I could truly embrace the fact that every day I’m learning, and am I trying to be better the next day…. I think that’s a win.

I have been recognizing that any involvement with thoughts involving ocd themes are compulsions and that I must continue with my day when they come up. I need to not take a detour to respond in any way. I used to address every thought I had and didn’t realize that was the wrong way to go. How would I know that? It cost me years of struggle. Now, I’m reminding myself to trust in me, even though it’s still difficult at times. I’m doing very well. Thankful 🥹

I had an intense anxiety attack the other day bc of my intrusive thoughts, but I let the wave pass instead of googling and seeking reassurance 🙂

I challenged my intrusive thoughts of failure and fear . I am slowly learning to take the power away from that fear of making mistakes and taking things at my pace . Thanks NOCD

I felt the morning dread today and just kept moving forward. I did some anxiety breathing that helped and my cats are also always a positive influence on my mood. Hope everyone made the best day they could! Enjoy the weekend!

I’m proud that I’m 7 weeks into my medication and I’m sticking with it! This is my fourth medication trial and it’s looking like this fits me the best.

Ive done all my homework this week!

I've been reducing the amount of caffeine I drink and have been noticing a huge difference. Also, a lot of withdrawal symptoms but I'm making it!

Been sticking with my medications and embracing the therapy process!

Something simple but I decided to start seeking for a therapist and medication and trying erp it's not the biggest of wins but yeah

I'm proud of my self for completing 6 ERP sessions even when they completely wiped me out mentally

I made some great progress with my OCD related to my job this week— I really feel the progress. 🙏🏼

I'm exercising regularly with my new running group, having never done anything sporty in my adult life before 🙂 When I started 6 months ago, I remember it was hard to stay the whole session, with the intrusive thoughts and the panicky feelings from getting breathless and sweating. But now running is so natural and calming! I can chat to the other runners as we do our 5k and I don't get any intrusive thoughts at all, I just enjoy the scenery 🙂

I bought a product that I’ve wanted for a long period of time but was scared to use because of my OCD. Now I’m going to use it despite what OCD tells me. And I’m so proud of your willingness guys to do these really hard things! You’re all such an inspiration

Last night I asked my sister to cat sit for me while I went to my boyfriends for the night. I had this intense fear running through my head “what if my cat got stuck in the fridge and my sister doesn’t realize?” Then it turned into catastrophic thinking about worst case scenarios. My compulsions would normally be to FaceTime her and ask her to check and show me my cats, or to reassure myself mentally, but instead I accepted uncertainty no matter how hard it was. I told myself “maybe she did get stuck in the fridge or maybe not”. I didn’t want to call my sister at 1am, waking her up, so I didn’t. I was able to resist my compulsions and was able to fall asleep :) before being diagnosed with OCD, i didnt realize a lot of my day to day things were actually OCD. But slowly throughout therapy, i’m noticing my ocd thoughts more and more and i’m able to recognize them.

Hey everyone, my first week here. Have yet to meet with a therapist but done some reading and already feel a lot better and more hopeful. Knowing how many resources I have at my disposal and that there’s community of people here who understand what I’m going through, makes me feel better. So my win is that I feel less lonely and though I was susceptible to a lot of compulsions, especially at work where I’m triggered often, there were many times I resisted. Telling myself that “it’s not a real thought but just my perfectionist OCD.” And though I was very anxious and brought down by my OCD this week, I remain optimistic and know my ability to always begin again. Not going to get better over night, step by step process. Just thankful for this app and people here 🙏

I have gotten slightly better like 10 percent. The morning intrusive thoughts are still strong but don’t provide any assurance and go along with my day

Still sorting and purging. Loaded my backseat with donations to a thrift store and my trunk with shredding for a friend that turns them into logs for their wood burning stove.

I had a good week. I actually got good sleep and went to bed before 12 midnight and woke up by 6am. Also, I now volunteer three days a week in soup kitchens for those in need. Feeling pretty good,have a awesome,safe weekend.

I got sad about something I tend to harp on after a conversation with my partner, and I didn’t bring it up again after and was able to fully enjoy the rest of my day instead of spiraling more.

I was able to catch my intrusive thoughts and be aware of them. I only started therapy 2 weeks ago but I already feel better being able to recognize when I'm ruminating, when before I wasn't consciously aware of it most the time.

I honestly thought it was all over, but I still have intrusive thoughts in new ways. I try to overcome them, but I can't. I've posted about what I've been thinking these past few days, and no one has given me any tips or consolation to feel better and move forward.

I’m getting through a difficult event I have to lead, and also trying to learn how to trust myself and my process with responding to obsessions

I started therapy recently and excited about it.

I conquered the psych Ward with insanely dangerous people learning I am Not crazy as I thought only a little!

I sat through the whole barber appointment. I was terrified of having a panic attack which led me to dissociate. But I stayed nonetheless.

just joined NOCD earlier this week. I had been curious about OCD for a while but oddly would have thoughts like “but what if it’s actually not ocd and there’s really no reason behind the thoughts” now i’m seeing that as an even bigger indicator that i have OCD lol Anyways, my ocd has been more intense this week because of some halloween parties that im going to. I’ve found some really helpful tips and ways to mitigate the thoughts and things i’ve been feeling. looking forward to seeking out therapy and learning more about myself

I’ve stopped calling my boyfriend bad and mean as a joke any time he does anything

I didn’t care about how my weekend would be, I continued to do my work inspite of rumination and intrusive thoughts flooding me. They did quiet as day passed on, though residual thoughts continued stayed. I didn’t expect them to go away. My answer to rumination - maybe or maybe not - my brain giving memories and replaying events 😜

Last week I tried not giving into my thoughts and just letting it be. It has helped a lot 😀
