@Newstage Keep in mind that arousal and excitement are not sin. That’s just temptation. It’s the acting out on those temptations through porn and/or masturbation that is sinful. So don’t feel bad or guilty that you feel aroused and tempted by sexual things, that’s perfectly normal. From a theological standpoint though, you’re really missing the gospel, especially if you think you can be “good by the eyes of God”. You can’t. It’s impossible. You’re a sinner, and that’s why you need a savior. And Jesus is that savior if you repent and trust in him. And if you’ve done that God will never disown you and all your sins are forgiven. When he looks at you, he is filled with love and not anger.

@dpveritasgold Right, but how can I stopping porn and masturbation, I feel like that drives me away from God, and his salvation

@Newstage It will definitely hurt your intimacy with God and your joy and happiness, but if you know Christ and are saved there is nothing you can possibly do to lose your salvation. It’s a free gift from God’s Grace, not a reward you earn or maintain.

If your obsession is arousal and compulsion is masterbating i don't think thats considered as a sin because a sickness (OCD) is making you feel and commit these acts. Or soo i have been told by multiple therapists. -Look whose taking, i always feel guilty on each compulsion.

@ newstage- the fact that your compulsions and obsessions are causing you distress is proof that they are not a reflection of who you are as a person. Rather, they are a manifestation of the sickness you are suffering from. That’s been the hardest thing for me to accept- the fact that I’m sick. You must accept that you are sick. Your brain is doing things it’s not supposed to do. You have to stop the self condemnation. A bible scripture that really helps me in this regard is 1 John 3:19 and 20 which says “ ...we will assure (convince)our hearts before him (God)regarding whatever our hearts condemn us in, because God is greater than our hearts and knows all things.” This reminds me that even though my heart or conscience condemns me for my compulsions, God knows everything about me. He knows that I’m sick, what caused me to become sick, he sees my struggle to do what’s right. So just because I may condemn myself that doesn’t mean that God is also condemning me too. I know that I can still obtain forgiveness. I hope that’s helpful to you.
