I'm literally working with them at the moment. Can you tell me what happened?

Good luck. They are horrible.

@Heythere What did they do?

@Vimli Look for another place. They are a one trick pony and will make u worse.

@Heythere How?

@Vimli What has it experience been like? Have u just started?
- Date posted

@Heythere Yes. For now everythings been normal. I haven't seen them do anything out of the ordinary.

@Vimli How long have u been with them and are u improving?
- Date posted
- 5y
@Heythere It's been a month. I haven't been consistent with ERP, so there's no real difference. I did get my diagnosis though.
- Date posted
- 5y
@Vimli I'm surprised u got that. I'm even surprised they setup ERP with u. U have to be consistent but I wouldn't recommend them. Its ultimately up to u though.

@Heythere I don't have any other choice. I live abroad, they're the only ones that do skype therapy. Why, did they not try ERP with you?
- Date posted
- 5y
@Vimli That's what makes they so attractive is the skype therapy. They know it and provide bad service bc they believe people are desperate. The OCD Center of LA offers Skype therapy. The clinicians are well trained and respectful. They will not try to extort money from you or manipulate you. Look online, search hard and dont just go for the easiest clinician. Be very discerning about clinicians.

@Heythere Ok but what is so bad about philipsons team. Are you just biased that their treatment didnt help you because I've had people tell me philipsons team is great and I have only you and another person telling me that their methods didn't work for them
- Date posted
- 5y
@Vimli Do u work for his team? I've worked with them and I'm curious who has said the team is great. They are horrible and there have been other reviews online about how hands off and u ethical the team is. I've given my experience I don't have to explain the details. If you choose to stay then that is your right. I wish you all the best but they are not ethical and are very dishonest, poorly supervised and trained and manipulative.
- Date posted
- 5y
@Heythere I don't work for nobody. I'm literally a sufferer just trying to get some clarity. You have not explained not one negative experience you've had with them instead saying generalized statements that they are bad manipulative unethical etc. How do you expect me to believe you if you're not providing me with anything beside blanket statements.
- Date posted
- 5y
@Vimli To say my specific experience would break my confidentiality since my case is specific. You have a choice to stay with them. If you choose to stay with them then that's your prerogativeim giving my experience and they are unethical. Read the choice article and its it's exactly what they do in treatment. The staff is poorly trained and supervised. Therea nothing blanket about it. That's the explanation.

@Heythere What does the choice article say?

@Vimli Are u still going to the clinic? How's your experience been so far?
- Date posted
- 5y
@Heythere Im not going to the clinic, I have skype therapy. So far theyve given me ERP tools and they've been working. I don't really have any complaints.
- Date posted
- 5y
@Vimli That is surprising. I'm sure they stepped up their game temporarily due to complaints.
- Date posted

@Vimli Also, I've never heard of the phrase "erp tools' and I worked with them for over a year. What sort of erp tools? Sounds sketchy lol...

@Heythere They told me what to do to combat my OCD and gave me homework...Look just because it hasnt worked for you doesnt mean its a complete scam for everyone else.

@Vimli Sounds like u do work for them and they did talk to u abt it. I went there and never once received homework. My therapist was clueless. I'm just shocked that they are actually helping and I am curious if u did mention what was said on nocd.

@Heythere Work for them??????? I'm a 20 year old jobless dickhead living with my parents editing silly video game videos. I honestly feel like you're the problem in this whole thing

@Heythere I didn't mention it because I feel like it wouldve been disrespectful but I did ask if there are any clients with my OCD that have gotten better and they said "yes we just had 5 people terminate contracts because they didnt need our help anymore and only one of them came back, not because of a relapse but for a few booster sessions.

@Vimli I'm not...lol why are you calling yourself that? Ur not a dickhead. Ur a human being that deserves respect. I'm sorry that u are out of work. Its interesting bc a lot of the clinicians are gamers. Also, they are really expensive bc they are out of pocket for someone that is jobless. I'm just saying I worked with a clinician for a year. We never did erp homework, he was always late and never prepared, he hated working with me, was extremely judgemental and manipulative and I don't appreciate being blamed. My experience is my experience and that was it. Maybe your clinician is great. Mine wasnt. He wasnt interested in the work and had a habit of blaming and gaslighting in session. Good for u for getti meg someone that was great out the mix. Mine was horrible and should be fired.

@Vimli Also, I would say ppl got better if I was a business too. I was told the same thing a year ago. Very interesting.

@Heythere So you had a shitty therapist. How is 1 bad therapist going to make you blame the whole establishment. I'm sorry for blaming you - if your therapist was shit then it's not your fault but it feels like a real slap in the face for someone like me whos saved up a lot of money for this, barely having any other options left getting told "oh don't work with them, you'll never get better because I didn't."
- Date posted
- 5y
@Vimli I wish you all the best with them. You have saved up a lit of money to get better and I really do hope that they help you along with your journey. 1 bad therapist does make me call into question the whole establishment bc he has a supervisor and he has peer supervision. Therapy isnt like a regular job. If one person is messing up, it is a reflection on the entire establishment bc steps are being taken to ensure that he is giving proper treatment. Its It's the nature of the job. Like I said at the start. Its ur choice. I've given u my experience and I wish u all the best. Do u mind me asking which clinician u are working with?
- Date posted

@Heythere I do mind. Sorry. What clinician was the one you were working with?
- Date posted
- 5y
@Vimli Its admirable that at 20 years old and unemployed u have saved thousands of dollars for treatment. Not alot of 20 year olds would do that. Again, I wish u all the best in treatment. I hope that you are treated with the utmost respect, care and attention and that you continue to receive he homework and treatment I never got and my clinician was never interested in giving. You really do seem like you are willing and ready to get better. Also, bc u are a fellow gamer, you will be treated beyond well. Again all the best!

@Heythere Thanks. Sorry for being rude. I really do hope you find a therapist that can help you. Happy new year!

@Vimli Same to u. I'm just sharing my experience and wish u all the best there. Mine was horrible. I wasnt bothered by the 'rudeness'. I dont take things personally. We all have different life experiences. I'm also hoping that some changes might have been made after me voicing my concerns and also making it known that they will be reported. I want to make sure that everyone receives the best treatment that they are paying a lot for. When therapists are being unethical they should be reported and others made aware of it. We all have a choice as to what treatment we decide to go to.

You should have been recommended to read it on their website at the Center for Cognitive Behavioural Treatment in New York. He ask has an additional website. You can research it online. There are several commentaries on it. The article is excellent. But that's about it. The clinicians and treatment are poor. It's a one size fits all method. With lack of supervision and tons of notes to avoid a lawsuit.

A couple of weeks ago I went through a breakup and was mental reviewing and ruminating the entire relationship. My therapist asked me if we can’t talk about and focus on the OCD treatment (my main themes). I am surprised that my therapist did not recognize that this new situation in my life is turning into another one of my obsession. And the constant talking about it is ruminating and my inability to sit with uncertainly and discomfort of the breakup (ROCD) is OCD and thus needs to be worked on. I am really beginning to question how much he understands OCD and I’m surprised that as the client I have to educate him on it. I have been working with him for many months and I don’t think I’m making process. I’m also having a hard time connecting with him. I want to terminate. I can’t do this. Also in terms of my main theme, I also had to teach him that to some degree. He also doesn’t know terms like “mental review” or “ROCD”. Like the words we all associate with when it comes to OCD. I’m getting not so good vibes. How do I leave?!?

And no one at the company will call and tell me why or how this was appropriate, nor did they follow through and make sure I have follow up care. (I dont have follow up care. I’m too afraid to trust a therapist again. My chart also shows I am severely depressed and anxious.) Instead they falsely charted there was follow up and closure and I only found this out because I REACHED OUT and a random customer service member told me: “Hi Tessa, one of our Member Advocates spoke with you first on Saturday, 5/31 around 10am PDT. After that call, the Member Advocate requested that one of our Clinical Managers reach out to you, in which Arlene (the Clinical Manager) had spoken with you that same day between 10:40am PDT and 11:20am PDT. Arlene had discussed your concerns regarding the therapist directly with you during that time and provided you with resources in your area that could be a better fit for your needs. As mentioned, we have reached out to Arlene again today, who has stated she will give you another call to address any additional concerns you may have regarding this situation.” Once I showed screenshots showing there was no second call from NOCD, and demonstrated that Arlene, who I have NEVER spoken to in my life had lied and falsely charted a resolution only continued to lie more and attempt (and fail) to cover it up by claiming she called me on her “personal clinician phone.” “Hi Tessa, we have coordinated with Arlene to obtain more information in regards to what occurred here. She indicated she had called from her personal clinician phone, which would come through as a blocked number on your end. However, for the call today, she is able to give you a call at 2pm PT and call from the main NOCD phone line, so you can expect the call from our (312) phone number. Will a call at 2pm PT work for you today?” After all this … NOCD negligently failed to reach out to me for a second time this last weekend after telling me: “We would be glad to accommodate that for you, and will have another Clinical Manager reach out to you today. Once we have a confirmed time that person will call you, we will send you an update to make sure you are informed of that call time.” No one followed up with a time. No one called. I had to go back into this anxiety riddled place to beg for a call. Still waiting on the call. Be careful. Don’t expect anyone to help you if you experience an issue. They cover for themselves. Having a therapy company that I trusted to treat me and care for me (for a very hefty price) call my family disgusting and attempt to gaslight me by telling me a story about Arlene that wasn’t based in reality, I.e., “Arlene (the Clinical Manager) had spoken with you that same day between 10:40am PDT and 11:20am PDT. Arlene had discussed your concerns regarding the therapist directly with you during that time and provided you with resources in your area that could be a better fit for your needs,” when that never happened is not something clinicians should be doing to people with mental health issues.

Has anyone else had a rough start? I’m 4 sessions in and have had no actual ERP work happen, I have 2 different therapists because none have availability to meet 2 times a week. Both those therapists are not available for the next 2 weeks so now I’m going to see a new 3rd one. Each time I’ve seen a new therapist I feel like the whole first session is spent with them re explaining everything. I’m paying for this out of pocket because they don’t accept Tricare which is my insurance as a Retired Marine. So I’m 960 in, and honestly feel worse than when I started. I get zero suggestions on what to do between sessions and feel so incomplete after my session finishes. I feel like I’ve gotten more help asking chat gpt questions on EPR and how to deal with ROCD than I do in my sessions . Does anyone have any insight or helpful advice here?
