I don't know what's real or not or if I'm overacting. My mum slapped me, hit me over the head, tore my shirt, smashed my phone,pushed me onto the ground etc and she denies most of it and tries to twist it like she says I fell instead of that she grabbed me and pushed me and she doesn't remember when she would slap me for stupid reasons when she was frustrated.
this does sound very scary and dangerous. tell a trusted adult!
She doesn't do any of this anymore last time was in January but she's been denying stuff since and like when I put it all together it sounds bad but I think it may have been what caused my ocd to get so bad so quickly
that’s definitely concerning. even if the last time was january unless she has clearly made an effort to change, those reactions are still in her and are js waiting to bubble to the surface again. it’s a problem that this was ever an acceptable reaction to her. and also denying it and guilting and twisting stuff is crazy toxic js my opinion but definitely get help
So she physically abused you and now she’s trying to gaslight you (which is psychological abuse) to try and get you to agree that it never happened and/or that you were actually the problem and in the wrong instead of the victim….
I guess so. It's so weird because I never thought any of the stuff she's done to me was relevant enough to be impacting me in the way that I'm not realizing it has been. She always shuts me down when I bring it up and it makes me feel so so stupid and like If I tell anyone they will take her side and tell me I'm being dramatic
@Sage._ You said your 17 and your at a shelter rn but you have to keep in contact because of money, so question for you are you still attending high school?? If you are I might be able to point you to resources your school should have for you.
@#Lexiriri I'm not in school right now, im trying to enroll in a new one.
@Sage._ Ask the people at the shelter if they have a social worker you can speak to because you want to re-enroll in high school. Once you are able to do that I want you to ask to talk to the social worker at the school if you can speak with the schools social worker because you think you would be considered a McKinney Vento student and once the social worker deems you are indeed McKinney Vento they will be able to help get you a lot of resources. Everything from transportation to school, applying to food stamps, if you need to request your birth certificate they can help you with that.
@#Lexiriri I think whenever I get back to school I will speak to the social worker if there are any options because I think the Mckinney Vento is in the US I'm in canada
