If one troll reports your post for any reason NOCD automatically takes it down. Its so dumb so dont stress about it
My post got flagged too, so I deleted it and cried haha.
@Peaceful wishes awh i’m sorry :( i hope you’re feeling better now
@worryywart Yeah I’m alright haha, thanks for asking :)
Hey. I really do hope you're doing okay. It sounds like things are really tough for you right now but you aren't alone. :) I noticed in that post you wrote how you just want someone to talk to and you know we've always been talking about many different things. I do hope you're doing at least a little bit better.
@BigGyro09 i feel a little better now after i went to sleep. i tried to reply to your comment but i don’t think it went through :( you’re one of the only people that responds on here & that i’ve been able to connect to tho so thank you for that. i just always feel like i might be being pushy or something by asking people to talk or be friends especially when i put my username on there (T ^ T)
@worryywart You're not being pushy and it's okay! I'm glad that we've been able to talk as much as we have and can able to help each other out. This month has been pretty hard, I'll be honest. You're definitely not alone on that.
@BigGyro09 *disc username i meant lol. and i’m sorry it’s been tough for you too. i notice i usually get in a pretty bad mood around this time of year especially. i’m glad i’ve been able to help you too, even at least a little bit :)
@worryywart December usually isn't this bad for me but this year is unfortunately different. You've been a help more than you think! I'm sure others can say that about you too. :)
@BigGyro09 aw i’m sorry :( i hope the rest of this month gets better for you, especially the holidays. i’m always available if it gets bad and you need to talk even if you just need to vent. you’ve helped me a lot too! idk if it’d be like overstepping to call you a friend but i definitely feel a bit better whenever we’re able to talk <3
@worryywart Yeah I do hope it gets better by the time Christmas comes around. Or at least next week because my favorite video game series ever will turn 38 years old! I don't think it would be overstepping. I'm glad that we help each other out when we talk. :)
@BigGyro09 i’m actually somewhat excited for christmas this year which is a bit of a first lol. & that’s cool, what game series is it? i forget video games have existed for that long sometimes😅 & again sorry lol i always feel the need to make sure i’m not being too much. probably another ocd thing :P
@worryywart Video games have been around since the late 60s!! They all started in these big telescope like computers but they were considered games! Then we had arcade machines and finally home consoles in the 70s! The game series is Mega Man! It first came out on December 17th, 1987! 😅 I'm pretty obsessed with it lol
@BigGyro09 oh i didn’t know that! i knew about the first atari consoles and some of the first fps games but that was kinda as far back as my knowledge went as far as the actual technology, but that’s really cool!! also it’s really cool that you know the exact birthday of the game lol that’s some real dedication. funnily enough i remember my dad telling me about how he used to play mega man when it first came out. he was really big on going to the arcade back then! ik they still exist but i wish they were more popular now
@worryywart Yeah! I remember the early first person shooter games as well! Speaking of which, the most influential first person shooter game, Doom, had its 32nd anniversary!! Yeah, I'm a massive, massive Mega Man fan. I know that if I found out about the series as a kid I would go crazy about it and talk about it all the time, no matter who I was around. It just has everything that I love about video games that I grew up with. And the lore is so fascinating I found myself talking about it for minutes and minutes on end. Unfortunately it's niche and the creators don't really know what to do with it as much anymore and they don't see the games as marketable as they used to be, but I think they still are!! It's so cool that your dad got to see Mega Man when it first released! If I could time travel to see that happen, I would love to!
@BigGyro09 i love doom!!! that one and the very first wolfenstein were the games i had learned about and thought they were super cool, i don’t know the exact release date though. i’ve never played the mega man games myself but i’ll definitely have to! i didn’t realize there was lore behind it either. and i looove listening to people talk about their niche interests even if i don’t know a whole lot about them, i’ve watched video essays on random stuff for that exact reason lol i love listening to infodumps. i’d totally read/listen to all of the lore behind mega man (^o^) i hate to be one of those “i was born in the wrong generation” type of people but there’s definitely aspects of that era that i wish i could’ve experienced, especially with the games/movies and especially the music. like if i could go back in time and see woodstock in person i definitely would
@worryywart I didn't know you really liked Doom 😄 Doom was 1993 and it depends on which Wolfenstein game, but I'm gonna assume it was 3D, which was 1992. The same developer made both games. There's an 8 hour video on YouTube talking about the Mega Man lore! There's so much of it! There's 7 different timelines!! I get what you mean by the generational thing, but we've definitely had our own "You had to be there" moments with things making history in the 2000s. A big example of that for me is the 6th generation of gaming, which I consider the very best!
@BigGyro09 yep doom is one of my favorites, i really like games like that with the whole sci-fi horror sort of thing. also the whole dante’s inferno sort of thing is just sooo cool to me since i really like gothic literature. and that was the wolfenstien i was talking about! couldn’t remember the exact year but i knew it was around the same time as the first doom and that the same developer made both games. i know there’s a whole theory that they’re in the same universe as well. that’s a *lot* of lore for mega man lol i’ll have to catchup on that video, i like watching them while i’m at work to kinda keep myself awake. which specific video were you talking about on youtube? yeah we for sure have things in this generation that ive enjoyed and some that i haven’t. i’m at least grateful that understanding of mental health is better because idk how i would’ve handled ocd back then. and then of course like social issues that would’ve made it shitty to live back in the 60s-90s. the 6th generation would be like playstation 2 era right? if so i definitely agree there were a lot of games that came out during that time i really like. i had this old coraline game (another one of my favorite movies!) for my ps2 and i really miss playing that.
@worryywart That's so cool to know that there's someone out there in my age group that loves doom besides my closest friends group! I think that's really cool! The video is "Every Mega Man Game's Lore Explained in Obsessive Detail" by Ben Saint. And yeah we definitely do have things that are much better than they were back then, like societal standards in some ways, mental health awareness, technological advancements, etc. Some of these are a double edged sword, such as societal standards and technological advancements. Yes, the PS2 is the start of that era! I had so much fun with video games based on cartoons I watched and movies just like you said! I haven't played Coraline but there was a Nightmare Before Christmas game that was released and it's meant to be a sequel to the movie! That's another game from that movie that is a prequel on the Game Boy Advance!
@BigGyro09 i know i feel like it’s not a super popular game at least among most people know even a lot of gamers. i got lucky my dad is big into games so i’ve been able to play a lot of old ones that he’s gotten over the years. the half life series is another one i really like got it, put it on my playlist🫡 i have a long shift tomorrow so i can probably knock almost the whole video out then. i still have my coraline game but not my ps2 unfortunately. i think my older sister even had a hannah montana game too. idk how that nightmare before christmas game slipped past me!! i literally love that movie so much & it’s what got me obsessed with stop motion, i watch it every year for both halloween and christmas lol. i even got a sally tattoo just before halloween this year. i love games based on movies and cartoons especially when they actually tie into the original content and build off of it, it’s like a little extra bit of content for the really really big geeks
@worryywart Half-Life is awesome!! I loved the first two games and I still have them. I can relate to that too, my parents knew a lot about older games. I had consoles from my dad's side and my mom loved getting games that were collections from the games of publishers like Capcom, Namco, Sega, SNK, etc. That's how I learned so much about these games early on in life aside from the games I grew up with. Somehow I've never played the Coraline game but I've seen the movie many many times. There were so many games based off the stuff I watched then and I remember most of them bring pretty good! They still hold up today I would say. That Sally tattoo sounds really cool too 😄
@BigGyro09 the half life games used to really freak me out as a kid but that’s part of why i loved them so much. my dad was really big on some of those publishers, he basically forced us to play street fighter and tekken as kids, also mortal kombat later on. your parents sound pretty cool tho, i really love when that sort of stuff is a family thing. my parents were the same way with a lot of movies and music too. the movie is so good, one of my favorites for sure, i somehow only recently realized keith david is in that movie as the cat lol. henry selick is awesome, i really liked wendell & wild movie he did as well. speaking of games based on cartoons, there was this old dexters lab game that i remember being obsessed with! the adventure time ds game was really fun, and i had an old naruto fighter game that i really liked too
@BigGyro09 also this is the tattoo i was talking abt!!👻
@worryywart Your parents sound really cool too! That's pretty awesome that you got to play all those games and have fond memories of them all :D Keith David was in Coraline? I'm surprised I missed that. I kind of remember it but I don't at the same time, lol. I'm assuming you're a bit Adventure Time fan judging by your profile picture! Also that tattoo is extremely AWESOME! :)
@BigGyro09 when i was rewatching it i immediately recognized his voice! he’s also in adventure time as well and pretty much like every other movie ever lol, the thing and platoon are two of my favorite movies with him, and ofc princess and the frog. he also did the live voice for oogie boogie in the concert this year for nightmare before christmas after the og voice actor ken page passed last year. i am a massive fan of adventure time! one of my favorite shows as a kid and it pretty much shaped my humor, i was a big cartoon network kid. and thank you!!! it’s one of my favorite tattoos that i have, the others are also mostly movie/music related. also your profile picture is cuteee i’m assuming you really like seals lol🦭
@worryywart I didn't know he did the live performance for Oogie Boogie! That's so awesome! He's a very cool guy to always catch on TV. Definitely a voice you can catch instantly when you hear it. There's a lot of Disney movies I haven't seen and would like to. Didn't grow up watching a lot of Disney channel. Cartoon Network was also my go to as a kid. That channel in their 2000s was the best cartoons will ever be for a very long time. Adventure Time was so awesome but I have to finish watching it. I am a huge fan of pinnipeds!! That's their scientific name, lol. Seals, sea lions, walrus, grey seals, harp seals, etc. They're such beautiful creatures and they're like dogs of the sea. I really do love them.
@BigGyro09 i was always more into pixar and studio ghibli but there’s a few disney movies i like here and there. i watched the disney xd channel as a kid when they played the spiderman cartoon yeah cartoon network was my favorite too, especially from the 90s-like early 2010s era for cartoons. courage the cowardly dog was one of my all time favorites. adventure time also has the fiona and cake spinoff you can watch when you finish the og show, its pretty good! i didn’t know that was their scientific name! they’re adorable tho, i especially love the lil furry harp seal babies. my older sister is sort of the same way with otters lol but her daughter is terrified of seals for some reason. one of my friends gets to work with seals at the zoo since she’s studying marine biology and i’m sooo jealous. there was this documentary i watched called our oceans that showed a lot of the seals, i just hate whenever they show the sharks trying to hunt them :(
