(This is for my fandom girlies/people and lovers and overall into fiction if there's any on this app) This isn't really a serious post or anything- I'm not stressed out about a certain thought at the current moment besides the usual OCD, (Which it better STAY that way ! 🥲) But for any yumeshippers/selfshippers out there- do you guys ever have OCD about it or no? If so how's your guy's experiences?
yep all sorts of ocd surrounding fanfic and stuff in general since there’s some discourse surrounding it. good to know it’s not just me lol. i try not to read too much of it in general but i’ve been getting better about some of the ocd shame that attaches to it
For sure ! For me fanfics are definitely a thing that gets to OCD sometimes and so are like so many other things, I'm not 100% on what exactly OCD attaches on and why I sometimes get a bit nervous on some things which is why I wanted to ask on others experience but it's good for me to know as well that others feel similar ways : )

idk if it makes sense but i feel guilty for even liking the character because of my fear of being a horrible person and said character would hate me 🤕
Absolutely 100% makes sense !! I have that as well and because of that I use it as an advantage hehe . I turn the "hate me" into a sorta strangers/enemies to an extent to lovers/friendship trope . So that I'd imagine the character feeling confused on why I act a certain way, there's troubles along the way, but soon enough there's more understanding and it kinda makes things more complex and interesting you know ? (I also draw and write so that's the creative side coming out of me.) But overall I just try to make good out of the guilt, but as I said I do understand the thoughts and I hope you know you're not alone on that. <3

One million percent relate. I went through a long OCD theme about fanfiction a couple years ago because my ship involved two characters who are minors. The actresses are both in their 20s, and I strictly read and wrote aged-up works, but the OCD was soooo bad for me then. I kind of did my own DIY ERP by writing for the fandom and ended up getting popular on ao3, it was wicked exciting and fun in the end. Of course my OCD plays whack-a-mole and moved on new bigger and better themes but… yes I relate 😅
OH 100% me too . OCD really gets me bad for when it comes to reading aged-up fanfics- and I also have a major crush/obsession on a character who's young and I am as well just a bit older by a year or so and sometimes POCD gets in the way really badly when I read fanfics of the character even if the romance is either aged up or completely sfw/nowhere near sexual. To that I just try to shrug it off but it doesn't help when people mistake him as a younger age at times and I get nervous that I'm somehow secretly a weirdo. Also yes I do the same ERP ! I also write fanfics (with x readers or just scenarios) and I draw comics and stuff, although I don't post them at the current moment mostly due to preferences and also since I'm too much of a perfectionist and it'd take 1000 years to post a single chapter.. but it's really fun as you said. (And congrats on the popularity hehe) I'm glad you could relate though, I do feel a bit silly whenever OCD gets in the way for a topic such as fiction but it's definitely something ! :")
