Hang in there! I know it’s hell because it’s constant but you have to tell yourself that if this is what your life is going to be like than so be it. Give into it in a way. It’s a bully and if you feed into it and show it your fear the more it will come at you. Easier said than done I know. But I promise you that if you take it one day at a time and refuse to do the compulsions you can and will get better.

I know there are many cases of hopelessness online, but there is hope. With therapy and ERP, my life has improved considerably. I was so obsessed with illness that I would make myself actually sick with worry, and could barely focus on the things and people I love. I’m certainly not “cured” but the agony has diminished and I can enjoy my life. I hope the same for you—please do not give up hope.

Yeah I've made the decision to officially drop my research compulsion. It got to the point where I would read the same article over and over and over, seeking reassurance. Googling nonstop. If you looked at my history it would just be a book long list of different articles, videos, and testimonials of clinical studies of people "not recovering" and such. It's made my condition 200 percent worse, as compultions do
