I would urge you to read the book “When Panic Attacks” by David Burns. It sounds like you could benefit from cognitive behavioral therapy. Also I wouldn’t focus on the why something is happening, it’s not always important. Just accept that it is and give yourself grace. Wishing you the best.

I too struggle with the rapid heartbeat, heavy breathing. I was always an athlete, played drums, manual labor. Never bothered me. One day a switch just flipped and my life changed (or maybe it was always there and enough OCD just pushed it over the edge.) Either way, I also had what I call “concrete head”, head felt very heavy and not really dizzy but fuzzy or something. I still struggle with the heart rate, also feel like I need to rush when walking to get where I’m going. My advice would be baby steps. If you want to work out, start small. Light walks, and if you have days where you feel really good, do the more extreme things you want to do. I still randomly have days where I feel like I used to before all this, very rarely. I went to the cardiologist, did the stress test. Got my heart rate to 190 bpm, I was fine. But I still struggle. Keep grinding!

@aBaQu__21uznHgoaoIpr221_/% My problem exactly too. Do you only feel that way in public? Are you fine at home for the most part? Do you fear death? For me, fearing death is probably the biggest driver. Other things come into play, but mostly comes from fear of death.

@aBaQu__21uznHgoaoIpr221_/% Yeah, the heart ones a big one for me too. My best advice would be go see a heart dr if you’re that worried about it. Don’t take no for an answer. Thats what I did. And don’t let it control you to the point of not going out and being yourself the best you can. From my experience, the longer you let it go and “just deal with it”, the worse it gets. You stop doing things, you stop leaving the house and that’s a road you don’t want to go down. Treat it. I’m not saying it’s easy or a quick fix, but I’ve been this way for almost 10 years and I’m just now getting help. You owe it to yourself to be happy. And you can be. Just don’t wait to try to fix it. Do it now. You got this!

Yes…I have dealt with this off and on for 12 years. It is extremely scary and the urges feel real. Best thing to do is acknowledge it’s there and don’t try and figure it out. It gets worse when you think about it and try and figure out why it’s happening.
