I feel so alone, I swear I’ve had other themes but SOOCD seems to be the stickiest. And I feel like it’s been the most prevalent and the loudest. And I feel like I never see anyone talk about it. I feel like I’m the only straight women suffering from it and I just feel so alone.
Hey girl, you're not alone! I have also struggled with this since I was 8/10 years old and I'm currently 27 so I really relate. I've also got other types of OCD but this one is the one that's sticking the most because even when its not 'loud' its still in the back of my mind and since it started early on it also really feels like denial... I'm engaged to my wonderful fiance who always tries to help me and honestly I don't even care if I'm on the spectrum, I just don't want my whole life to have been a lie knowing that I have been with my fiance for 8 years (my OCD tries and convinces me that its because we're best friends lol and its just platonic). Anyways, you get the picture, just know that you're not alone !
@Anonymousesti Ugh I feel this so hard! I feel like it translates to ROCD with my husband and feeling like I’m living a lie ignoring “signs.” I’m sorry you’re going through this, as much as I want someone to relate to it sucks knowing other people go through this
I am so there with you - you are not alone! I am 27, never had a boyfriend but only had crushes on men and been with men intimately, but having a massive OCD relapse about my sexuality currently and it is very hard to quieten it due to my sucky dating life and as I have had it early on around 10 as well I think! Working through it on therapy - groinal responses are the worst but need to learn that you can never be 100% certain and you have to accept that.

I’m a man suffering from it and it is miserable it is getting a little better little by little but it’s hard
@Corle1 I feel like no one talks about it and I feel like I’m not ready to talk about it in a group because I’m kinda new here but at the same time I’m 29 and have been suffering from this since I was 10/12

You’re not alone! I’ve never questioned my sexuality ever, always been a very sexual person. Watched lots of porn, lots of relationships/ hookups with girls/ then one panic attack and boom. The thoughts, the doubt, it’s like your brain assigns danger to completely normal thoughts. You see a guy and it’s normal to acknowledge when a dude is a good looking dude, but ocd wants to spin it “why did you think that”? Are you gay? Do you like dudes?” Had me in a tailspin for awhile. But they’re just thoughts. And anxiety/ and ocd doing what it does. Just leave it alone and let it be as hard as it is that’s the way out and through! Your definitely not alone

You definitely aren’t! I struggled with this for a longtime when I was a kid and it still pops up on occasion even though I’ve been happily married for almost 20 years. I have to remind myself of all the years I wasn’t obsessing about this I was never attracted to a woman sexually. The crazy thing is I wouldn’t care one way or the other if I were gay now that I’m an adult, but OCD still clings onto it and makes it an issue!
@Just-Me2025 Well that’s the thing I’ve have it since I was like 10/12 and that makes me attach onto that it’s “denial” harder even though I’ve never been sexually attracted to women
@Anonymous Mine started when I was 12 til about 14, it was the worst! Went away for the most part while I was raising kids, but now that the kids are grown I’m struggling with OCD again it keeps popping its head back up like a game of whack-a-mole. It is the silliest theme I struggle with, but still a struggle none the less.
