Anyone know -- How much does 6 months of NOCD therapy and ERP cost in $? How long does it usually take to "get better?" Is it all online? Is it facetime or chat? Thanks

hi! I do nocd and I wish I had all the answered . It thought I did but I do have a few!so yes,nocd is all online.and what do you mean by chat? I personally use zoom.

@Dude01 My insurance completely covers the cost of my therapist. They let you know which therapists accept your insurance. The therapy is over Zoom. Good luck on your ERPT journey! ☺️

@Dude01 Last time I did NOCD it was a co-pay per session. This means it was $30 a session for me. However, my co-pay has gone up, so now it will probably be about $35 a session for me. I chose to do a session every other week, so it was about $60 a month for me at the time. I think you can learn ERP in about 6 to 8 weeks, and then practice by yourself. The first time I did NOCD, my therapist told me it would take about six to eight weeks to complete the course. And that is about what it took. I stopped the therapy after eight weeks and just practiced the principals. The second time I did NOCD, I only stayed for about two weeks. I did learn things from it, but overall I'm not sure that particular therapist was a good fit for me. NOCD is very understanding about that and they offer for you to change therapists if you don't have a good fit. You can start and quit easily and at any time. All the sessions are over zoom. You can text them or email anytime with questions and they answer quickly. They are super supportive.

@Tea and Honey - Wow thank you for the info. I didn't realize it was that cheap or potentially that quick. I wanted to make sure I had 6 months of treatment before starting lol. Another thing I think that made me hesitant to go was if this is going to go on my medical record. Docs already think I have health anxiety so if they share records and see OCD, I'm thinking for the rest of my life they won't take anything I say seriously 'cause they'll just say "oh that's OCD" heh

@Dude01 I have insurance, so can’t answer the first question. 2. Depends on the person. You can’t judge that as a whole. “Get[ting] better” is also subjective. 3. Yes, all online. 4. FaceTime.

This platform has been a godsend for me. There aren’t a lot of ERPT therapists where I live, so having this as a place to find many qualified therapists has been such a relief. And this community of message boards is also really helpful.
