Any other adults feel this way about this? 20+only

Adults only Any other adults and only adults feel like porn is something they should never see in life? Or that it's so compromising, or that it impacts morals, or that it really messes with you mentally? I feel this way all the time yet I've become so addicted to it. I'm trying to get it to stop in therapy once and for all. I haven't given up on it, no matter how difficult it's been to stop it. I just feel like it's removed a lot of novelty in my life. Happiness or excitement over smaller things. The true importance of respecting people as human beings and not objectifying them based on how they look. Deep down I'm really sick of it but I feel like I can't control myself when it comes to watching it most times. Just wondered if other adults felt this way.

Definitely wish I’d never seen it and that it didn’t exist. You will get through it and one day it won’t become a constant thing nagging at you. I still have moments where I remember, we all remember random moments and times where we maybe messed up. OCD I think makes it more difficult, but it’s a bit easier to move forward now when it comes up. Keep going! Don’t be hard on yourself cause maybe you’re not where you want to be, be proud of yourself for wanting better for yourself and for trying.👍

I'm trying not to be so hard on the things I remember watching because that's just the nature of being so caught up with this. I'm just really trying not to judge myself for it but it can be hard. I've seen really compromising things and I've seen things that I personally feel shouldn't be shared on the internet that included real life celebrities. On one hand I get that it's fantasy but at the same time people really shouldn't put things like that out online but they do anyway and I feel like I'm part of the problem for constantly going back to it and trying to justify it in my head. I just don't want this kind of stuff in my life anymore. It just never seems ethical for me personally. I'm not where I want to be but I feel like I'm getting close to that with therapy getting started this year. Thanks :) I hope you're in a good place right now mentally and I hope OCD isn't really bad for you.

Yea I feel this I sometimes feel porn may have clapped my life but also I feel everyone has a darker side to them and we just love to hate ourselves so we think we’re so much worse than regular people but everybody has sexual thoughts

There's a huge shame factor that plays a part in it but I also think it's a very personal, important decision whether to include it in your life or not

It feels like I'm constantly feeling remorse over porn I saw years ago. It's horrible and I wish I never saw it ever

I'm currently going through these feelings when I was so hooked on it to the point where only watching content of celebrities would do something. I feel disgusting and terrible about it but I'm just trying to sit with those feelings instead of going back to watch it all again. It's really not easy

@BigGyro09 That's crazily similar content to what I'm currently spiraling about (though I just happened upon it rather than looking for it). This was years ago now but the uncertainty has been driving my POCD crazy

@Anonymous I used to watch it many years ago when but I stumbled upon it again but started getting hooked on it but feel disgusting and shameful about it because it's complete and total objectification. Sorry that it's POCD for you. I'm assuming you're in your 20s

@BigGyro09 Yep, unfortunately it's become even more of a problem since AI and deepfakes were created. The whole Grok problem triggered me in a big way a few weeks ago. I am in my 20s, yes. It's POCD despite me being over a decade younger than the subject of the photo I stumbled upon! I wish I had reported it at the time just to be safe but there's no way in hell I'm ever going to search for it

@Anonymous Yeah I know what you mean by the ai stuff as well. I got pretty hooked onto that as well but only fictional characters because the thought of it always felt weird and worse with real people. I just think I'm much better off with none of this stuff in my life and dealing with compulsions and intrusive thoughts in much better ways. This stuff is just too compromising and violating

@BigGyro09 I agree, some of this stuff is genuinely harmful and we would all be better off without it! There are some good videos on YouTube about OCD and pornography that helped me calm down when I was in a really bad way, hopefully they can help you as well. Chrissie Hodges especially. I feel like a lot of online OCD resources avoid talking about these taboo themes and I really wish they wouldn't. It just makes everyone with similar problems to us even more ashamed and scared to get help.
