Partners with OCD
Hi everyone. I’m new here and hoping to learn from people with lived experience. I don’t personally have OCD, but my boyfriend does, and I really want to understand how to support him in ways that are actually helpful (and not unintentionally harmful). I know everyone’s OCD journey is unique to them. I’m not looking for one “right” answer / solution, but I was wondering what has worked for some of you in relationships. For those who have OCD or have dated someone with it, what has helped you feel supported? Are there things partners often misunderstand or do that make symptoms worse without realizing? Any tips, boundaries, communication strategies, or resources would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance for anything you’re willing to share <3
