I can’t tell if i find this 13 year old i saw online attractive or not?? or if i just thought they were pretty?? im mortified. i think i just found them pretty. i’m 15 for context and they were wearing makeup and looked my age and i checked their bio which said they were 13 im freaking tf out

@CoreyD i’ve been dealing with ocd pretty severely since i was extremely young but since becoming a teenager it’s sort of morphed into pure o. my mum knows about the harm side of things with my pure o but not this exactly. i’ve been doing pretty well for a while but i seem to be slipping again
@Anonymous Gotcha. OCD is cyclical for sure. I went years without having a big spike. You go from periods of relative quiet to intense OCD rearing its head. Are you in therapy?
@CoreyD i was put in cbt a while back but it never seemed to work out on me, and i’ve tried doing some erp myself which i can only do in small bits without genuinely having a panic attack. but ive been trying to just accept the thoughts and let them leave and that seems to work best. though with things like this thats really hard because i dont know whats moral and whats not or how i feel about something because the lines so blurry.
@Anonymous Something that helps me (I’m also 15) is realising that if you were actually immoral and had something wrong with you, you would not care. I struggle with moral OCD and this MAY be a bad thing coz I’m contradicting it, but when I just really freak out I have to go wait, I wouldn’t care if I actually was a phyco-path. Also, the person you saw is 2 years younger than you, and sometimes they can practically look the same. That person did not look like a child. Do not sweat it!

@Anonymous Of course! OCD is so isolating because of how awful and specific it can be. Know that you are not alone. OCD can also be so damaging, as it affects us so much because we care so much! For example, if an actually “sick” (for lack of better vocab) person got an intrusive thought that was really horrific, they would just go “meh, whatever I don’t care” but it affects us so much because we are so scared it’ll come true
@Livilou i think deep down i know even if all this WAS real id never ever act upon it and i think that helps because realising that also helps me realise i literally don’t want to pursue any of it in the first place. it’s also really hard being a teenager going through this whereas alot of people talking about it are adults😭😭 you’re so sweet for talking to me thank you x
@Anonymous Yes I know exactly what you mean! I always think that even if I was faced with LIFE OR DEATH on whether to act on that intrusive thought (coz mine are very very taboo) I would honestly pick death. Everytime. And that may not make sense to a lot of people, but if I was ever in danger of harming others in horrific ways, I don’t deserve to be here! And I’m not actually suicidal, it’s just sort of a moral preference. And I know exactly what you mean with being young with it, it can really affect your studies. I’m currently a few months away from doing my GCSEs and it has been stressfullll. Anyway, good luck to you!
