OCD

I'm dealing with Existential OCD as well and I wish I thought what you thought because I feel it's better than what I'm feeling right now. OCD is great at preying on anything and everything we value. Planting seeds of doubt. If you need someone to talk to I'm here. You'll get through this and I hope you are seeking care. I'm in therapy rn with NOCD and doing ERP. It's the hardest thing I've done to date but I do recognize that I am able to do hard things. Hope you can allow yourself to accept uncertainty.

i’ve had really scary thoughts like that too. my therapist told me that whenever i start thinking “what if reality isn’t real?” to respond simply with “what if?”. it’s basically allowing things to just be. i’m not sure where you are or if you’ve tried this, but it’s helped me a bit with those kinds of thoughts.

I've been through that, too. Not the part about God, but the part about reality. Existential OCD can be awful. What I concluded was this: I can see in 3 dimensions; I can feel in 3 dimensions; and, I certaintly can't walk through a wall at-will. That's enough verification for me. You can’t prove solipsism by any means. The goalpost can always be pushed further. Not only are the odds 99:1 (it’s a widely hated on philosophy, universe is billions of years old, could literally be infinite in size) But because there’s that .000000000000001% chance that you’re god playing some amnesia game cuz ur bored or something, it doesn’t make this life any less meaningful. Any time the thought comes up just say idk maybe maybe not every time.
