BreatheâŠ. It sucks. Iâve been there. Youâve created a strong ocd loop, but the good news is you can undo it. Idk how familiar you are with ocd, and how all this works but listen and trust me. Youâre gonna be ok. This isnât your forever. Do you have a plans to start therapy? In the mean time search for disgusting thoughts in the group search bar. Bro if I ever get better its gonna be thanks to u đ„ču are so nice on my posts thank u so much. I am in therapy i actually went today. She tells me its not my fault and stuff like that and she tries to get me to talk about specific thoughts which im assuming is like exposing me to it. I've been experiencing this for around a year now and after a month into it I found out about ocd and have been researching since but since January ive felt so much worse and like all of my progress last year litterally got wiped out so now I jusr feel like the real evil things im scared of being
@ilbgm One book in addition to the freedom from OCD one I found helpful for intrusive thoughts was âovercoming unwanted intrusive thoughtsâ it gave me a step by step strategy for when these pop up, which is about resisting the urge to fight them and suppress them. Instead, say to yourself: 1) âI acknowledge that I am having an intrusive thoughtâ 2) âI accept and allow all such thoughtsâ (since thoughts do not equal action, theyâre just thoughts 3) âI am floating and feelingâ and allow yourself to feel the fear or disgust without digging in and trying to resolve it and 4) âI am letting time passâ and as time passes you will move on. The fighting or reassurance to yourself about the thoughts is what keeps bringing them back stronger again and again. Giving yourself this playbook to let the feeling sit and let time pass made my intrusive thoughts almost entirely go away.
