I just read the post you are talking about. He was quite rude I would say. Yes this is an app for OCD and you want to connect with people who also have OCD. That is completely fine. I think your account is fine. It’s lighthearted and good natured. You just want to connect and share and I think that’s ok.

@bluerainbow I understand. I didn’t think you had ill intentions. If it helps you manage OCD, keep going!

i know who you’re talking about. that person has posts spaced out between years so i don’t even think they know or care what this app is really about. i shared something about ocd and they questioned me on it too. even though they had a similar post… just an insecure person pay no mind

I honestly thought the same as you. I usually try to post things that make people happy, which is I think what you do when you post about food. That can be considered a way of helping people cope with ocd I think. Posting stuff unrelated is a way of connecting with people with OCD, even if it’s not about OCD. Unless you never mention ocd. I think stuff like that even unrelated to ocd can make people feel less alone. If not, then I also have a problem with posting unrelated stuff.😅 Also, I post about other mental health stuff too, because I think OCD has a way of sneaking in to everything, especially other mental health issues. I think it’s fine as long as you aren’t hurting anyone, but that’s just my opinion. Idk for sure

@bluerainbow Aww same. I went through a lot at the beginning of the year and I feel like it’s difficult to connect with people now. This app feels great because I can share with people and have them understand. Now I need to go look at my posts and see if their too unrelated to ocd 😅😅😅

@bluerainbow I like to post my cat because seeing others post that stuff helps me release stress, so I was hoping that if others saw someone with OCD posting silly stuff, then they might have more hope for themselves. But maybe I’m wrong idk. I find cats motivate me to do exposures, as well, that’s why I call it cat motivation.

Idk, I kinda like seeing the occasional positive and light hearted post even when it isn’t directly related to OCD. And I think those types of posts are so few and far between that if someone doesn’t want to see those they can simply scroll past it or block the person, they don’t need to get mad in the comments or be condescending. I would just say maybe don’t be making unrelated posts like 5 times a day every single day. But it doesn’t seem like that’s what you’re doing. I do think the bulk of posts should be ocd related. But the occasional “here’s my dinner” or “here’s my cat” post from someone who has OCD and is just sharing - I think that’s fine and even nice sometimes. That’s just me though, and that may not be a popular opinion idk 🤷

@aralways But I’ve actually gone out of my way to follow people who post light hearted positive stuff. I think it’s nice

Also just wanted to say that the food you post does motivate me to eat. Appetite is something my depression decreases, so even though it’s not ocd related, I think it somewhat helps my mental health. <3
