Another vent/rant idfk

I REALLY REALLY hate my mom. Because I asked my dad to get me something from the store to eat because we literally had nothing to eat and he got me my favorite food, I’m not getting anything for my birthday.my mom cooked this pasta with meat and cheese but it was disgusting. It was wet, soggy, and oily..the oil was separating from the rest of the pasta and when I tried it it literally sounded like I was slurping a slushie..not only this but she used FETA cheese and olive oil meant for SALADS.. WHO USES FETA CHEESE AND SALAD OLIVE OIL IN A PASTA WITH MEAT? So obviously I didn’t eat it after I tried it, plus the onions in the pasta were chopped up largely and I HATE feeling onions in my food. So, I asked my dad if he could get me something from the store. He suggested that he could get me instant noodles and I agreed, even though I was originally going for something more like a ready meal. My mom came back and saw be eating it and yelled at me, so now I’m not getting anything for my birthday. I’m so pissed off

I do use feta cheese and olive oil in my pasta hahaha people in balkans do,but yeah you right to be angry about her yelling at you

Try to be more mindful of others. It helps with OCD understand that your ocd is why your mad not the people who are in your life 🤙🏽😜 just food for thought

not a clinician of course, but it sounds like you're experiencing sensory issues with the food. do you typically have a hard time with food textures? or find that people describe you as picky? sorry it grossed you out. It really sucks when a parent doesn't understand you aren't rejecting food out of pickness. Not eating dinner and just getting noodles to receiving nothing for your birthday is an overblown punishment. i totally get why you're upset at the unfairness

@Bubblegumho it sounds a bit like ARFID (avoidant restrictive food intake disorder) -- which means it isn't pickiness or needing to "grow up". It's usually associated with neurodivergence, or can be associated with trauma. I don't have that personally, but my wife, who is also autistic suffers with issue. Usually she's got certain safe food and it takes her awhile to get used to new food. I would suggest looking up on it and seeing if maybe if this applies to you? Especially if you struggle with food/texture or having sensory issues with food in general. The major thing that helps my wife with her ARFID is that we don't force food and slowly introduced more balanced foods. She had the same issue when she was younger though, being called picky or being told to grow up, it doesn't help arfid understanding and slow introduction does

It's okay, it's really annoying though but im sure you can go back to your life and goals, your mother probably would forget she even yelled at you a day later so just don't even give it that much thought because you see, and good luck
