Spiral all the time cuz see so much on repentance and am afraid I don’t know how or don’t do it right and then I delete it so I don’t have to look at all the content but then feel guilty for ignoring it bc it’s probably for a reason bc they all hit hard and are true
If repentance is changing direction, could it be that by entering therapy we are preparing ourselves for repentance? I know they some of the sins I struggled the most with are no longer temptations now that I have experienced some healing through therapy. Maybe repentance doesn’t happen overnight. Maybe it’s a journey. Maybe that’s okay.
@Lori F Yeah I just hate doing the same things everyday or same thoughts and what if I’m not changing direction I’m just so anxious cuz I keep stumbling
@G C I feel you. Today I’m having a struggle day. But I realized the way I feel today is the way I felt every day before therapy, so even though I’ve not reached a point of not struggling, I’m still seeing growth. Jesus compared spiritual growth to being like a plant growing. That is something that is impossible to to see in real time, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t happening.
@Lori F Yeah I’m just scared he’s like bro.. I keep telling you not to do this whatever it is and then keep doing it and the feel guilty but idk if it’s real guilt or not bc I always feel guilty all the time then sometimes I think I’m being too extreme or I’m like oh right now it’s not a sin but when I’m in the heat of the moment and spiraling it is even tho it technically isn’t considered one It just depends on my mood when it’s allowed and when it’s not

Hi! The Bible is the living Word of God and it holds all authority. Authority over your feelings. Authority over your thoughts. Authority over your circumstances. Authority over your life and everything in it. The Word says in Romans 12:2 that we should be transformed by the renewal of our minds. How? Think about what you're thinking about and see what the Bible says about it. The amazing thing about Jesus, is that He loves us so much! He loves us that He gave His own life to die in our place so we won't perish only BY GRACE THROUGH FAITH! Not bc we earned it, not bc we deserved it. We're all sinners by nature, there's nothing perfect or Holy about us but only through Jesus we are forgiven, we perfected, we are redeemed. God is not a God of condemnation (He doesn't instill guilt, shame, or confusion). It is written “For God is not a God of confusion but of peace. 1 Corinthians 14:33 Satan, however he is the king of confusion and he will make you feel guilt through and through. He will whisper lies and cause fear and convince you that you're not good enough and God will not accept you. Now it's up to you if you want to agree with those lies. He comes to steal, kill and destroy. John 10:10 God knows our weaknesses, He's not afraid of them. And He is the Only One who can give us strength in our weakness. His grace is sufficient and we need to believe that. He is a loving Father, a forgiving Father. His grace is limitless as long as you continue to lean into Him. Trust in Him. He wants your heart. You have to humble yourself enough to receive his forgiveness. The guilt is not from the Lord. So give yourself some grace, and know that He is God. Pray that the Holy Spirit would help you through temptation and ask that He stirs a strong conviction in your heart. You will see the desires of your heart begin to shift. You will eventually begin to be set free from that sin that has you bound and free from guilt that has you crippled. You just have to trust in the Lord. Trust His Word. Pray it over yourself. Back to Him. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you believe it!
And especially when I struggle with the same things I feel bad for repenting and it feels fake
