I survived the hair salon today haha thats me for another 8 weeks ? It funny because I know for a lot of people they would not describe a trip to the salon as something to SURVIVE. But many of us, do. And its nothing to be ashamed of. I bought myself some crisps and biscuits, tomorrow is Saturday and I have got nothing to do, which is a nice feeling. Wishing everyone a nice weekend, has anyone got any plans over the weekend?
That’s amazing!! I feel the same way! I have DPDR/Existential OCD so going to the salon is a nightmare… but yay, we got through it 🫶 My fiancé and I are going to buy a bunch of snacks and have a movie night, it’s been a awhile 🥹
I was thinking to myself in the salon chair, its okay, lots of people feel a bit akward in the hairdressers, and it helped me just breath. Its nice to know its common issue and not just you! I love a movie night, and snacks, sounds great. Enjoy. Any movies in mind? I just got done watching The Boroughs on Netflix it was really good 👍
Getting my hair cut is absolutely a matter of survival for me too! I went to the salon for the first time in about six years recently because I hate it so much. I was thinking of getting myself a new book from the library today to have something fun to do this weekend. My idea of fun anyway haha.
Ive always spaced out the visits as much as humanly possible! Which was easy when I had longer hair, but now I've got short hair, I do now have to venture into the salon more often. But im actually thinking of going to 2 separate salons, just so there is more space in between visits. Social Anxiety just means I have to think over everything haha. What kind of book are you thinking of ? Ive only recently been able to go back into the library. I had a support worker and she helped me get back in there. But yeah, everything is a bit of a challenge so even going to library would be a big deal for me haha atleast I can go in now, it was impossible before
@Mercury75 I love the library! I volunteer at mine, which has been a struggle but fulfilling too. I'm heading there for my volunteer time in a few hours. I look forward to it and dread it at the same time. I'm hoping to one day walk in there with confidence.
@bluerainbow I was thinking of picking up a few graphic novels that have been on my reading list. The book I'm reading currently is a bit heavy so I could use something light. Going out at all is challenging for me too. Every time I go to the library I have to write down the book I want and where to find it or I'll be so nervous I won't be able to remember. I'm glad I'm not alone in that, I feel so silly sometimes that I'm even scared to go into a quiet library 😓
@Amy B. That's a goal of mine as well, I still get scared every time I go in there haha. It's really cool that you volunteer at your library! I'd love to do the same, the library is probably my favorite place ever!
@Mercury75 Mine too! I would love to work there someday when I get my OCD to simmer down a bit more. It's kind of a goal of mine, but right now I'm just in survival mode when it comes to work so it feels like a far off goal. Heading in to volunteer now. Wish me luck!
@Mercury75 Thats similar to me, i always leave the house with a list of everything I need to do or buy. I can assure you that I never leave home without my list haha it helps to calm down anxiety. Hope you enjoy your books over the weekend. I will be watching Netflix 👀 and not doing much else
