Deep brain stimulation

Has anyone looked into this? I know it’s very rare that people do it, but my ocd hasn’t responded to many medications or therapy twice a week and it’s severe. I’m doing TMS now (deep TMS which is the ocd protocol), and if it is unsuccessful, my psychiatrist said he would check the literature but then refer me to a center that does deep brain stimulation. I have to pay for my mental healthcare (I’m 20 and in college), and TMS is already a lot of money, so I’m not sure how Deep brain stimulation would work. My psychiatrist said there might be ocd charities that could fund it, but I can’t afford it out of pocket

I’ve done 5 sessions of TMS, so it’s too early to tell if TMS will work or not

Have you tried Chlonopin? I think that's a medication that is supposed to help for non responsive medication for OCD. I recently switched psychiatrists after 15 years. Last psychiatrist wasn't helping me in the past year. My new psychiatrist is Dr. Henry Boilini in Orlando FL. He does telehealth. I've been going to him for a couple of months and it's helping. I hope you get some help. Ocd can really steal your joy. Praying for you

@Kim27 I looked it up and it said it’s a benzodiazepine. I’ve tried Xanax before 1 mg and noticed nothing from it. My psychiatrist said it’s ok if I tried 2 mg of Xanax if I did it only once a week. I tried that and didn’t get a benefit, but had a fuzzy memory. Maybe this would be different though
