Hi yes! I worry from the time I open my eyes till the time I go to sleep
@Soccer101$$ Me too! My lexapro has helped for a while not suddenly I feel myself having of thoughts. :/
Hello justsomone1, It’s very common for OCD and anxiety to show up as soon as you wake up, before you even have a chance to process your thoughts. The distress you’re feeling is valid, and it can be helpful to remember that intrusive thoughts are not a reflection of who you are. If you’re struggling and need more assistance, remember that help is available. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at NOCD to find out how we can support you. I struggle with that too. Sometimes firmly listing 10 things I’m grateful for (some days I just keep going until I get distracted by something else) can help get me on the right track. Taking a short walk can help reduce anxiety- I’ll take a slow circuit around my neighborhood and focus really hard on noticing the trees, people’s yards, the sky, the birds, etc. Something small and nice to look forward to (make yourself a nice coffee, have nice smelling shampoo, light a candle while you get ready, listen to a comedy station, sit with your pet). If all that is too much, just forcing yourself to put two feet on the ground to start off with can help.
@LightPallas I really like this answer. Firmly listing things you are grateful for is a good choice. I lay with my dog which calms me because it brings me joy and comfort to know my dog feels comforted and loved. I usually start the day with saying thank you to Jesus and saying some prayers to myself as I get ready.
Totally - woken up just now full of disastrous thoughts
@ben123 I’m so sorry! That’s how it was for me this morning.
Yes yes yes. ❤️🫂❤️🫂 Its hard to think of being strong for the day when it hits you so immediately before the day even begins.
I used to
Me this morning analyzing every bad choice in my life lol
The moment I open my eyes it starts it’s been getting better but when everything was really bad I’d wake up in the middle of the night and over think and then when I woke up in the morning I’d overthink and it would last the whole day. It’s exhausting I’m constantly so tired
