rocd people help

guys I was too social when I was a teenager and I was talking (in flirty way ig but not so serious) to someone in my country from another city but I dont even remember his name now I have 1 year and 1 month relationship with my lovely partner and due to memory loss like I even forgot when did I talk to him it can be 2-4 years, I wanna now the exact date but idk I cant even remember but my sick brain says that what if I talk with him when my partner was in my life and feel sick...

Girl I totally get you... Here's a couple things I am noticing in your post—you say, "I was too social." I will be honest, I don't see anything wrong with you being social and speaking to someone of the opposite sex. One thing a therapist told me that has STUCK with me... flirting, while sometimes does lead with the intention for romance or sexual interest, doesn't always. You can be playful, lighthearted, silly, and even make comments that some might view as "flirty" without having the intention to do so... sometimes you hit it off with someone! It sounds like you are ruminating on this. I know how tiring it can be. I used to tell myself all the time, "well maybe I forgot a detail that I didn't share with my partner that would completely change his perspective." To this day, I struggle with it in my journey with ROCD. What matters is, you are on here recognizing that it is OCD, you are reaching out for help, and you CAN get the tools to help mitigate this condition. All the luck to you! You will likely look back on this obsession and chuckle! You got this!

@ilovekittens🤍 thank you for replying actually the situation I talked about was happened when Im 14-16 so it is okay to talk idk and the feelings and the talks were all always childish interests. So in your passage u mean talking with someone not always has romance or sexual interest u mean ? does hit it off means like eachother not in serious way and just talking for no reason just for talking u mean?

@Iwannabeokayy - Yes! Absolutely-- what one might perceive as flirty is different from what another might perceive as flirty. For instance: I have a larger chest size and things generally look more busty on me, and in some ways people perceive my body to look sexual even when I don't want them to. I had a girl tell me that the way I act and dress brings male attention despite me wearing pretty much the same things as everyone else, just with a bigger bust. To me, I felt as though I was fitting in—to her, I was "asking" for male attention. This situation made me freak out because it made me feel so ashamed by my body, even though I genuinely cannot help the way my body looks in clothing. Her comment made me want to become a nun LOL because I felt I was so limited in what I could wear without constantly being perceived as sexual, simply for existing. Now the circumstances are slightly different here... you are saying the way you spoke could have been perceived as flirty... ok? so what!!! What matters is you and your partner are happy and doing well... why let the OCD monster try and infiltrate your beautiful relationship... The unfortunate truth... you can't help how people might perceive things. Some may believe I want male attention if I wear anything but a baggy t shirt, others may have more empathy about limited clothing options for bustier women. Some people might believe you were flirting and others might not. Long story short, you are ok, your relationship is safe, and we all did silly things at 16 and 17. Peace and love to you! I hope you can see your strength and resilience! I have experienced just the same.

@ilovekittens🤍 yeah I did the clothing thing too I stop doing make up and wearing the things I like because I started to feel bad about what Im doing the situation I wanted to talk was before my partner like years ago but when I start to feel that ocd feeling guilty worrying stage I feel sharing will be better for me after I calm down I regret do you have false memory too or you wanna talk ?
