ROCD + Scrupulosity Help (tmi stuff)

So my boyfriend and I are trying to stay pure in our relationship we haven’t had any sex or oral sex but we have touched our private parts and in one point it was too too close to climax in my part. I have confessed, repented, talked to mentor for accountability, read the bible, made strict boundaries with my boyfriend but i still feel i sinned and that God will condemned my relationship because of this… is this OCD???? y’all i can’t figure it out

Also you did sin. We all do. We’re human. But again, God knows this. And He won’t condemn but convict. Conviction in faith is a good thing. Use it to learn for next time 🙏😊

It does sound like ocd because everything you mentioned you did is a known compulsion in scrupulosity. You should accept the feeling of being a worse believer without fixing it instead of making sure that you are forgiven.

@Maldonado5! It's okay and expected. But what you have to understand is no amount of praying, confessing, and repenting will give you 100% certainty that your relationship won't be destroyed or that god will forgive you right? You can't be 100% sure of what god will do. It's about faith, not certainty. You can still be a christian, read the bible, pray etc the way you would do it before ocd, and not more as a compulsion to save yourself. It seems like you really value your relationship and faith that ocd has targetted them. I'll be happy to help if you have more questions. I wish you the best❤️

@no more running thank you so much! I did an ERP script to help me get through this thought. Like if i sin for myself, i ask for forgiveness and i move one, but if my boyfriend and I sinned… if like God will just use that a example of not being together

@Maldonado5! No problem. You can try "maybe because of what we did, god will punish us by ruining our relationship! Well that would suck. Not gonna do anything to make sure it won't happen though." and you close the loop. Erp is a way for you to drop the fight with your thoughts. No matter how aggressive ocd gets, don't back down. The anxiety peaks before getting better.

As a fellow believer, we make mistakes. You’re human. God knows this and still loves us. It’s going to be ok. I promise. It sounds like you stopped, repented and took the right steps afterwards. God forgives a repentant heart and remembers our sin no more right? And if God forgives us, who are we to hang on to it? (Hebrews 10:17) I used to struggle with a similar issue until I was married but that verse helped me through. Breathe and pray. It’ll be ok

@JK1426 i did this ERP let me know what you think my boyfriend and i touched our private parts and got too close to arousal. I asked God for forgiveness, but its unforgivable. If i stay in this relationship I am disobeying God and God will not bless this relationship due to this sin. He will allow it to fall apart, and it’s because of what I did. I am a sinner and I wont receive Gods blessing. I am a mistake, unworthy to be His daughter and receive everything.
