NOCD is a scam
All they care about is money and assessments.
All they care about is money and assessments.
It’s definitely not a scam
@ben123 Ok Ben123. Thanks for being dismissive.
@idkOCD24 Not being dismissive - but a scam is an intentional deceit to take money for false reasons. You have had a frustrating experience it sounds like and I’m sorry for that but that’s a different thing from being scammed. NOCD does valuable real work. And of course I’m sure they also get things wrong.
I’m curious as to what happened that led to this post. I’m guessing you have been with nocd for a bit if you have the conqueror tag. I haven’t been here that long but I’ve found my therapist to be super helpful. It was also a huge upside that she is licensed in multiple states because I travel for work. I can also meet with a different therapist temporarily if I travel outside of the states she is licensed in. I would have a hard time getting the same consistency of care if I went to a local therapist.
@Anonymous I’ve been through 3 therapist. Only 1 seemed to actually care and believe my experience. There were several session I was forced to do assessments for 20-25 minutes of the session. I tried canceling my last session and stopping therapy and my therapist said they “didn’t see it” and when I joined the session to confirm (since it was still showing as not cancelled) they told me they did not check their message over that weekend. They also spent too much time telling me what they were and were not afraid of in terms of phobias. Back in my program, all be it I graduated over 10 years ago, we were drilled in on self-disclosure and self-of-the-therapist work. It was distracting and dismissive.
i mean if it's a scam for charging don't most therapists only care about money if that's the case? i've never met a therapist that charged less than 200 per session.
@ezzieorsomething Used to be a therapist. Never charged $200. But thanks for being dismissive.
I understand you're frustrated but calling it a scam I think is unfair. It's a business so of course money is important and the assessments used are pproaches to help assess changes over time and as far as I'm aware are pretty industry standard. One benefit of that approach is it can show there is progress where it's not easy to see from the inside though I do agree they're quite a blunt tool. If you're having issues with your therapist/treatment I believe they have escalation processes for it, you can change therapist etc. If you want to add some more colour to what you're experiencing, I'm happy to see if it aligns with my experience too
@titaniumonetwo I am more focused on the platform than the individual therapist. You can only do so much in a system built on scams. It is clear that payment and assessments are part of therapy, I was a therapist for 7 years- that is not the part that feels scammy. Thank you for the supportive comment titaniumonetwo.
Oh really? Why/how so? Ive been thinking into trying their therapy for a while
