Christians with ocd?
I’m a Christian dealing with OCD. Can Christians help me by, for example, sharing their testimony with Jesus, having OCD? Thanks 💗

Christ has helped me immensely. Trusting in God and relying on Him has brought me so much peace. Just knowing I’m loved fully & redeemed has made my life better and my ocd spirals declined big time bc of the relationship I have with Him. It took time of course and i have my moments but I’m human as we all are. And that’s ok :)
I'm a Christian age 57. I became a Christian when I was 5. I have struggled with ocd for over 30 years. I was just recently diagnosed. Before I thought I had an anxiety disorder. I mostly relied on medication. I tried some therapy over the years but it was talk therapy not ERP so it didn't help. Starting last July I started being very afraid of dying after attending 2 memorial services. It lasted through May. I have changed psychiatrists and medications. I've been doing ERP therapy since middle of May. I'm still struggling with just right ocd and obsessive thinking. I try praying for peace and listening to devotion or Bible reading on app. I try to pray without it being a compulsion
@Kim27 I am glad you are getting ERP💝 Glad you are a sister in Christ✝️
My relationship with God has helped me immensely. Remembering that God is in control and I am to fear not, but be still and trust in Him has changed my life. While my OCD does lead to struggling with faith/religious practices such as fasting, or routine/rituals, I can find rest in knowing God loves me so much and understands me better than anyone.
Something that has been helping me recently is knowing that I am never alone and that God is always with me. That has given me a lot of rest
I became a Christian about 2 years ago by meeting my boyfriend, my family is not Christian. I’ve had lots of ups and downs due to my OCD but I’ve felt lots of comfort and security having God on my side. My OCD still latches onto my faith but I’ve been working on it to grow a deeper relationship with Christ. I know that God wants me to be truly happy and I feel so blessed for being able to make steps in this journey, and in life in general.
I am not specifically Christian as I identify as omnist, but was raised within Christianity and it’s often the religion I turn to when I’m spiralling down. I have faith my story has been written for me, and I have faith that my god will deliver me from this fear and anxiety. Each time I have persevered and come out of it, so why would one spiral change that? I also find it helpful to realize that God has guided us to medications and practitioners especially when so many people say that medication is not biblical, but I find that far from the truth. These resources have been granted to us to aid our suffering, to ignore them would be to turn a blind eye to gifts given in ways we may not fully understand!
Yes medication and therapy go hand in hand with faith. What is an omnist
@Kim27 I believe there’s some truth to all religions! Not that one has a universal answer. It’s technically a philosophy but I utilize it to form my religious practices :)
@shootingstar Ok thanks for explaining
@shootingstar Thank you for your reply, I appreciate your time! I want to say something to you because I love you. You said you identify as an omnist, but that you specifically turn to Christianity when you feel down. I just want to encourage you with Jesus’s Word: “Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life.” John 14:6. The Holy Spirit wants you to turn to Jesus completely, out of deep, deep love for you. I’m not judging or forcing you, but I and us are more than ocd and my identity is in Jesus. As you share your testimony with me, I want to share my tresor—Jesus with you, not because I want to force any truth on yourself, but because I know it can free you from a lot. Maybe the others religion you turn to give you something temporary, but there is only one God who suffered and died for the people He had created and that He loves more than anything. I pray that you find yourself deeply encouraged by the way, truth and life that is Jesus. I pray that you have faith like this: that not just a God is real, but that that God — Jesus Christ, is your God. I say that to you because I love you, and I want to share the truth I profoundly believe set free from sin, because Jesus paid the price of our punishment and gave us His life on the cross. By raising again, He draws you and me into His resurrection. Jesus gives us a new life and fill it with His life (“I am the resurrection and the life” John 11:25) and offers us a greater hope of eternal life only through the salvation that is found in the blood of Jesus Christ. « The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. » John 10:10. I love you, but Jesus loves you so beyond more. ❤️
