Does OCD make one addicted to like crying?
So I was able to work past something that could’ve caused a spiral, but I ended up spiraling later anyway for a different reason. That being my husband disappointed me after refusing to go visit a friend who is currently in town. Although he had a valid reason (his leg was bugging him and he just wanted to go home and even canceled our other plan tonight) I just felt annoyed because we never seem to be on the same page when it comes to social things or going out. Also, our moods will sometimes be opposite (he was stressed and I was okay, trying to help him through it. Then I was having an OCD moment and he was getting over his stress. He got annoyed with me when my mood switched). Personally, I feel like if I make plans I’ll just push through it if I’m not feeling well, unless I’m actually sick. Maybe that’s just me tho. But the fact that he’ll cancel plans so last minute sometimes makes me feel like a flake or that we are perceived as unreliable, which I hate. Additionally, I feel like i can’t be social with friends if he doesn’t feel up to it. If he says I can go anyway, I just spend the entire time feeling guilty and compulsively check my phone every two seconds anxiously awaiting that text that says to come home. Anyway, it devolves into me wondering if I’ve married the right person or just someone who doesn’t match my energy. That maybe I’ve settled. Which I know isn’t true, but it feels like it because ocd continuously makes me feel like I chose wrong. Furthermore, our love languages are kinda different and he has ADHD so I just don’t feel like he sees what I need or what would make me happy. I’m very acts of service so I’ll end up working my ass off around the house. However he’s more words of affirmation so he’ll just say he appreciates me and that I’m the best. But like I’d rather flowers or gifts, or returned acts of service without having to ask. At the end of it all I usually just end up crying and I think I’m addicted to the cathartic release. I’m in therapy now, however it sometimes just feels like a rant session when figuring out my triggers/etc. Idk I’ve always just been like yep that’s the root fear that I’m a terrible person and I know that haha moving on! Sorry that was a lot
