How do you guys make friends with ocd?
I never meet people with ocd, the most people I talk to with ocd is on here and I’ve been wanting more friends and I just don’t have any.

Your not alone 😭
@Rayann Like I just want friends 😭it’s even more hard because I’m 22 this isn’t high school anymore. I try my hardest to be nice to everybody. Like be my friend
@Anonymous I don’t even have friends. I’m nice to everyone, but this is actually bad for my mental health. I do have some online friends, though. But trust me, having three friends and feeling comfortable with them is better than having 20 friends and feeling uncomfortable.
@Rayann I would say I have none basically but I friend I grew up, we’re close but now how we used to be and a friend I met during my job but I don’t work there anymore. lol she barely responds but I don’t mind because she does that to everybody. I think wanted more friends with ocd and just friends in general. When I thought I had a best friend and then basically got a new one after we went to college I found out after promising me she would tell me when she comes and visit we can hang out but I found out she came back home many times and hanged out with other friends we had that actually went to the same college as me. It’s been months since I even contacted her, I stopped telling her my business years ago and she only talks about herself.
i’m in the same boat tbh like i mainly have online friends. in regards to ocd, the people i’ve met with ocd i didnt know they had it at first. maybe there are ocd support groups in your area that you can go to?
@ihateithere I can try I live in Houston Texas lol, even placed into the psych ward they didn’t even place me with people with depression or anxiety or ocd I was in there with people that was schizophrenic
@Anonymous that sounds rough i know psych wards can get pretty intimidating for ppl with ocd to be in, i live in san antonio so not too far from you and there’s a support group for loved ones of people with ocd but idk if they have the same for just people with ocd (probably they do)
@ihateithere It was okay until it wasn’t lol, I just realized I was misplaced with people that could make my ocd worse. Like on guy believing he was God and had these powers to heal the sick and he would fake these seizures. Especially upon going in there I was in the hospital waiting to be transported and when I officially left the psych I got my paper work and they tried to say I had, depression, general anxiety, depression and Bipolar disorder. They even lied and said I was a threat to other people. It was the medicine I was on that i overdosed on that was used for bipolar but it could treat ocd.
That’s great that you would like more friends. It’s hard if you’re not in school. I understand there are friend apps you could try. Also you could join a group that shares the same interest as you. For example hiking, walking. Volunteering can be fun and rewarding and you can meet friends there especially if you become a regular. Get out there smile and introduce yourself. 😀
@Anonymous I should, with ocd I feel like everyone is out to get me or everybody doesn’t like me. I talk a lot especially with people I’m comfortable with so I can understand it might be annoying for some when I was already treated like a last option in my family because of being annoying so i guess it’s trauma
Hey there..I can relate a little to this. I'm 22 +20 years old I'm getting old but feel young at heart lol but I wish I knew or was friends with people that have OCD. I go to church and have friends their but they are all married except for a few but I can tell them what I'm dealing with, they pray and support me but they have no idea what I go through on a daily basis. The hand washing the intrusive thoughts that my friends or even old ex friends have my phone information because I might have did them wrong and befriend them. My ex wife even, it's exhausting 😞😞
@Jerseyborn I have my bf that knows my ocd, he’s knows everything about it. I know i annoy him sometimes because I can’t leave ocd alone and it makes me miserable even though he said I would never annoy him but I know the feeling, truly nobody would know our experience unless they also have ocd.
@Anonymous I'm happy you have a support system in your man. I had my wife until I messed that up lol
@Jerseyborn I believe you could find a support system too. This app is your support system, I have a lot of free time and I love coming on this app and giving the best advice I can or letting people know that I relate to make them feel better. We are here for you
