For the Christian with OCD 💌

Hey, listen.. I know you’re struggling. It feels like you will never get past this. Maybe it feels like God is upset with you.. but I want to gently remind you that He isn’t. He loves you so deeply, and everything you go through has a greater purpose. I want to choose my words very carefully, because I never want to trigger anyone who is struggling with a religious type of OCD. I want to spread His love to others so that they can experience it too. No obsession, no worry, no fear, no anxiety or past is bigger than the cross. I recommend the song Flawless by Mercyme, it is my favorite song by them, and it is very encouraging for when you feel that you’re too far gone. You are NEVER too far gone for Him. I would love a little prayer over my mind. I feel like I am applying what every therapist and what my family tells me about these thoughts that I dwelled on that come back up again or that I purposefully think which is terrible yet it happens or I do it anyway. I just wish God could tell me if this is all me or if this is OCD or something. Feeling or knowing this is just all me and my doing or saying this is just a phase and that it will eventually stop (which it might) gives me hope, but also has me scared for punishment.

@Anonymous You are not alone sister! God bless you! And like StrawberryFrog said, He loves us unconditionally, and Jesus is our best friend. He took all of our burdens upon Himself out of love. I will pray for you here as I lay down to try nap for a bit. Please pray for me as well and my healing from OCD. I feel like the worst person and that I am always defined by my mistakes/past. That even though I came back to the Lord a couple years ago, that I am still unclean. Jesus is Lord!

Hi, I saw your post and I am having such a hard time with my OCD right now. I am depressed and so very much full of fear. I have a new intrussive thought that I have had now for 10 days and I am mentally exhausted. I know others say this but I am sure no-one has had the same intrussive thought as me as it is so riddiculous, illogical and distressing. I really feel like this will never get better. I can't describe how hopeless I feel. I have had severe OCD for near 7 years and I so much need Gods help and healing. Please if you could remember me in your prayers then I would be so grateful to you.

@HannahApril I can almost garuntee that someone else has had the same thought- distraction and out loud prayer is what helps me a ton

Amen sister! Thank you for this! I am so thankful and lucky to have Jesus in my life. I come back to Him when I am feeling spun up or down. Although I always feel like the prodigal son, I know that He still loves me and accepts me. He forgives. Jesus is Lord!

What a blessing I saw this post. I have been struggling really bad this past week. I actually just downloaded this app yesterday and have my first appointment on Monday. I feel like I’m finally getting the help I need but just ready to be past this hard part and know how to cope with these thoughts!
