Feeling upset about relapsing
When I found this community and instagram account, I was like “WOW! this community actually exists? I’m not the only one? So I’m not a bad person for dealing with unwanted thoughts that cause me immense distress?” I didn’t even know what OCD was, what “ego-dystonic” meant (which was a huge relief), after struggling with it for a long time I genuinely think the instagram account + praying, helped save my sanity and life After that, i genuinely didn’t have OCD anymore. I didn’t realize it until weeks/months passed and i was like “oh wow those thoughts aren’t here anymore. I feel so happy. So free.” and even if a thought popped up, it quickly went away, i didn’t even remember them However, the recent Lindsey Clancy case has made me get harm OCD thoughts for the first time (I never dealt with that theme before), which sucks when it’s about a loved one that you obviously don’t want to harm. I recently watched the treatmyocd YT video regarding this and I feel much better Also, I don’t have these anymore (they lasted me like 3-5 days) of very disturbing graphic imagery of myself, but i think it was because my country and others have recently gone through horrible earthquakes that left a lot of people dead/missing parts/etc. I was doing so well. Idk why this relapse happened (even of certain thoughts I had already overcome). That makes me sad. Any tips? Thank you 🩷 I hope everyone’s doing well
