Scrupulousity Question

As a pastor, I know, it’s awful — but as an OCD-haver, you’ll never feel better unless you guide yourself to accept that there’s no real way to have absolute certainty about anything concerning heaven or hell — not what they’re like, not who goes where, not anything. It’s all uncertain and will stay so until we find out after our deaths. That’s one of my personal exposures, and friend, it gives me peace that nothing else in the world can give.

When I was a kid I had the same problem, I would even hear curses of Him in my head. I didn’t do it intentionally, rather they were intrusive thoughts that showed the opposite of how I really feel, but I was still terrified. Never forget who God is: He is your Heavenly Father and you are His son. He knows everything about your brain, how it works, and the OCD you experience. For legitimate sin, He sent Jesus in your place. For this though, I would just tell God in prayer what He already knows: you don’t mean these intrusive thoughts. Also, ask Him to guard your heart with “the peace that surpasses all understanding.” Ask in the name of Him who promised “whatever you ask in my name I will give you.” Peace be with you

Anyone who calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved. I understand your struggle. And so does Christ. Lean into the fear and let go. Jesus will always catch you, even if you do t know you're falling

If you’re asking from a Christian/Bible perspective, the Bible doesn’t treat doubt as something that automatically means you’ve lost your faith. It often shows people bringing their doubts and fears directly to God. A few passages are especially comforting: * Mark 9:24: A father says to Jesus, “I believe; help my unbelief.” — You can have faith and still struggle with doubt. * James 1:5–6: When you’re uncertain, you’re encouraged to ask God for wisdom and trust that He hears you. * Psalm 42: The writer repeatedly questions and struggles emotionally, yet continues turning toward God. * Matthew 14:31: When Peter doubts and begins sinking, Jesus reaches out to him. His doubt doesn’t make Jesus abandon him. * Jude 1:22: “Be merciful to those who doubt.” — Doubt is met with mercy, not condemnation.

Oh my gosh!! I could have written this myself. You are NOT alone! So many of us are struggling with this. I urge you to just ask Jesus into your heart Ask for forgiveness for everything you can remember and everything you can’t Turn away from your sins and live a life that’s pleasing to Him Believe He is the only way to Heaven and that He died on the cross for your sins. Always be in prayer and God’s word Lord, in your precious and mighty name, according to your written word, I plead the blood of Jesus over Thredy. Bring them peace and comfort. Reveal yourself to them and may they feel secure in their salvation.
