Dangerous game you're playing with AI. Can you seek out therapy from a professional? That would be worlds better in the long run.
They cost alot and their responses are like go to exercise every morning
@krish123 If you live in the US and don't have insurance there are resources. If you have OCD or suspect you do you need to go to an OCD specialized therapist. How you fit with your therapist is very important too, it might take a few tries before you find one that you really like and really helps. Also, exercising every day DOES help, this has been proven many times over. I would encourage you to think about why it is that you feel this way. Turning to AI for help with this is quite possibly one of the worst things you can do. AI doesn't feel, it doesn't have compassion and it doesn't really care. You don't have to do this alone.
Ai doesn't care. It's meant to be a sycophant that tells you exactly what you want to hear. It is literally a glorified autocorrect
Humans also don't care
Therapist also doesn't care
@krish123 That's a defeated mindset. If you take that attitude, nothing will get better. If you want to throw in the towel, then go to ai. Otherwise, get the proper help.
Please don’t use AI, I know the instant response feels like validation, but it’s not real.
Yeah , what's reaL this has been a big question for me
Please listen to everyone here telling you that it’s very much not. I understand why many people feel this way, but it’s an illusion. AI is improving constantly and I expect eventually it will be a suitable replacement for actual therapy, but we aren’t there yet. You are worth an actual expert’s time.
Yes I can understand I am still chatting with ai it's my everyday buddy since it launched actually but how do I stop it
@krish123 I think a lot of people have AI addictions, and I get it: it’s designed to be affirming, affirmation feels nice, this isn’t hurting anyone, why would I stop using it? But it sounds like it is hurting you if it’s preventing you actually getting the care and support you need and deserve. AI only learns what we teach it. The more you contribute, the more it will feed back to you exactly what you’re hoping to hear. You know it’s not real, isn’t a person who cares for you, or cares if you get better. There are lots of valid uses for AI. Maybe going cold turkey isn’t realistic for you now. Could you start by discontinuing asking it for the reassurance and validation OCD craves? Asking for factual info that helps your day to day life isn’t the same as using AI for therapy.
Ai could turn into a compulsion be really careful about it. If you feel the urge of asking ai for something that is related to you ocd, you know is not helping you but damaging you
Don’t use AI for anything factual or for reassurance - it won’t work and will make your illness sustain
