Left the house and ran errands today!! Was it with my safe person? Yes. Did I still need to bring my water into every store? Yes. But I still did it!! ERP win!
@Anonymous Proud of you!
@Anonymous Great job 👏 proud of you
I’ve stopped body checking so much and have stopped giving into my compulsions a bit more. Haven’t completely stopped, but definitely less than I was a week ago
My therapist and I identified some OCD patterns that are rearing their ugly head and outlined what I can do about them!
I started to do some of the things I used to enjoy again and stopped when I felt like it, not when OCD told me to!
I finished a book and started reading a second book without so many mental interruptions!
I woke up in the night and felt anxious with many OCD thoughts circling, but managed to just lie there and rest and eventually went back to sleep! So much better than freaking out all night and getting up in the morning miserable, like I used to!
@blu-iz95 That’s huge! Well done!
I had surgery and was so scared and unsure but went through with it and everything turned out better then I expected!
Haven’t pulled my hair in two weeks!
I was able to spend 2 days this week working on a commission painting that I’m been avoiding for 4 months!!! I’m finally making progress and was able to let the client know
I’ve been able to manage my physical symptoms of my anxiety better and am doing a little better with my spirals
I sat with a difficult feeling that causes anxiety. It was not as bad as it was in my head.
I actually woke up for my appointment 😛
Overall been feeling better and doing better and that's a win to me 😌
I documented many exposures for my therapist to see. I also joined the taboo support group and met my OCD idol Taboo Tracie. She is amazing at coming up with fun ERP techniques. She has been through some big rough patches but she never gave up and now is helping many people with their mental health journey. She is the best.
I was very nervous about interviewing for a new job, but I did it and it went very well!
A Soundbath really helped me when I really doubted to go but it was a good!
Went to work for the first time in 2 weeks . Very short day but ill take it !
I went to the same cafe again today.. I had some trauma from going because after I left that place I was in a car crash and I didn’t go back for awhile.. this is my second time going back so I know for sure I’m not gonna let my fears get me.
Sat with some uncomfortable health anxiety thoughts and didn’t let it dictate my whole day
I had my first session today, so that was kinda exciting!
I finally got a counselor and after a hard exposure day yesterday I still got out today and did a few things I needed to.
I was able to wait to wash my hands, that’s a big deal for me! 😁
Have had some success with not doing the compulsions this week!
Not letting proximity to bats/rabies be a deciding factor in my home search!
This week I worked on radical acceptance around the fact that I am chronically ill and it has nothing to do with "bad luck" or that God is punishing me. It is just bc of my genetics. I am still trying really hard to not catastrophize as things progress, but I'll take the progress of acceptance! 🤗
ate with my hands and didn’t perform safety routines
I continued to identify that ocd thoughts are not my thoughts.
I’ve gone from having 5 bad days and 2 good days to 5 good days and 2 bad days. NAC and ERP therapy is helping!
Despite my ocd and the foul trickery it can hold over me. I’m officially going College! I’m so grateful and thankful for this miracle to still share what I’m capable of :)
Finally feel like I have energy again. I let myself admit that I’m doing better, which is an ERP win!
Completed my first out of session exposure practice. A small step, but one in the right direction!
I pushed myself very hard.
Practiced some response prevention stuff for the first real time today. Hard work. But been noticing I’m laughing more. I get more breaks of “not in my head time” too today. Very cool. Still lots of work. But man, we doing the thing!!
I moved to a new city nearly a year ago, and have been having a hard time with OCD symptoms as I try to adapt. But within the last few weeks I have been to two book club meetings, and I performed at an open mic. These are things I wasn’t able to do even before I moved. It’s been really hard but I have made progress
Sent my application for an internship
I took down my picture frames and will be putting them up tomorrow in my new place!
Showed up to work every day. Challenged my social anxiety and contamination / just right OCD. Had a meaningful conversation with my mom about the struggles of perfectionism. Navigated some hard situations as best I could. 🫶🏻
I’m doing less body checking (my breathing) but I’m now able to focus more on the things that matter the most. I’m spiraling less
This week just felt really peaceful, my head was really clear and i was able to look back a few months ago and saw nothing but progress. I went from spiraling the whole day, to just a few moments in a day. I am really glad for that! Wishing strenght to everybody!
Haven’t done a certain compulsion in a few days :)
i made a small mistake at work and i didnt let it ruin the rest of my day!
Did NOT seek reassurance in a friendship (ROCD) when I was spiralling and wanted to text them to see if “we are okay” because “vibes felt off”. And I made it through and was able to sit in the discomfort.
Got my OCD Conqueror badge this week!
Joined the taboo theme support group and met my OCD idol Taboo Tracie.
Started to slowly come out of a real event ocd loop
I now can shop with little intrusive thoughts . It was amazing today to walk slowly around the store without a care in the world. I am so happy that I could enjoy myself. 😄
i joined this app today to try to be better with my OCD and anxiety :)
i bought a workbook for overcoming my ocd and went to the gym despite body image issues !
I got triggered by something this week but pushed through, did my ERP, and I had no panic attacks.
For three days straight, I’ve used my script before bed, to remind myself that uncertainty exists and I must live with it. My mantra has been, “I can allow the uncertainty to be with me, but I will not let it take over” and “I can allow the anxiety to rise and fall on it’s own”. I do this and then do the 4-6 breathing exercise to fall asleep. I’m hopeful that tonight will be day 4 of success!
Watching my son start kindergarten and go on the bus for the first time
