Share your medication
I’m highly considering medication to go alongside my ERP. I was wondering if anyone could share their medications, how effective they are, how long they took to work etc.? Thank you

Hi! I’m in 25 mg of Zoloft and have been for about a year now. I will say, the first few weeks are terrible on it - but after about 3 weeks for me, I started feeling the good effects. I know most people say it only works for them on 50 mg, but my 25 has been a good baseline along with my ERP. Everyone is different, though!
@Anonymous Hi I was wondering if you could please explain the good effects you feel? I’ve tried a few meds and Zoloft was one of the longest stretches (several months). I stopped at 200 mg daily and idk why they didn’t continue increasing the dose, but maybe because I didn’t notice any benefit. I really didn’t feel any different from day 1 of starting Zoloft. I feel discouraged that I don’t know what anyone is talking about when it comes to meds working for OCD. I’ve also tried different types of meds (e.g. SNRI, antipsychotics, etc.). I also have autism and adhd so maybe that complicates things since I do feel overlap or alignment of symptoms. But yeah in theory I can google how these treatments should work for ocd but idk what people are actually feeling and why I don’t feel it. 😞
I started buspirone 7.5 mg 2x a day recently just because we wanted to start with a non-SSRI and I had tried it in the past when I was young. It’s been a little over three weeks since starting which is around when it is supposed to start working. there is definitely more free space in my head so far, but I am also very new on my journey. It definitely came with some upset stomach, light headedness, and dizziness at first (like the first week). I’ve also noticed it’s much easier to go to sleep at night due to less racing thoughts.
Currently on 10mg Prozac. It’s improving my mood and OCD but probably not enough yet (I’m on the lowest dose though and I’ve only been on it 5 weeks) At one point in my life I was on Anafranil - side effects are significant but it also 100% saved my life.
I’m on a tablet and a half of Zoloft/sertraline. I’ve been on meds since May and it’s my first time on an SSRI. I was reluctant to start. But my mental health needed desperate support and I was willing to try anything. 25mg was good for about 5 weeks and then I added an extra half tablet and now I’m at 37.5mg. I’ve been feeling stable and feeling safe and able to engage ERP therapy with more presence since I’m no longer in fight or flight. All my OCD scores have gone down by half since I’m feeling more regulated and aware of how to manage my OCD. I plan to go off my meds or at least back down to 25mg next year but not holding myself to it. I will say as a person with ADHD and autism, I found it essential to start this med alongside of Ritalin (an ADHD med). When I was on 25mg of Zoloft, my libido was normal, and since I am highly sensitive, the smallest increase to 37.5mg impacted my libido. I still experience pleasure, but my body isn’t sending high signals. To me this is worth the trade off because I’m learning mental health skills to support the betterment of my life. I intend on dropping down if I can learn to manage my ocd well over time.
1200 mg of trileptal, 300 mg of zoloft, 5 mg of risperdal, 60 mg of buspar and 1.5 mg of klonopin as needed throughout the day. I’m like super crazy
