I went back to doing erp last night for a new ocd issue with my therapist and the anxiety was brutal but I did it! 😁
@amandaw8617 Heck yeah!! 🙌🏻
I'm going through a first period of no contact with my emotionally abusive parents and despite the fallout from that, I managed to stay focused on myself and my goals this week. This would have triggered so many OCD compulsions in the past and activated a lot of shame and it feels so liberating to be giving that back where it belongs for the first time in my life. My therapist said she's proud of me today 🥹❤️🩹
@Coati That is so amazing! I hope you’re feeling extra proud of yourself too! 💕
@PurpleHeather39 Thank you! 💙
@coati this is so inspiring!
I’ve been struggling a lot lately with my ocd and I met with a physiatrist, I think I might start taking medication. I feel ready and ok with the fact that maybe I cant face my ocd alone, and may need other tools other than erp. :)
Started RF- erp this week. I’m nervous but so excited to get my life back
What is rf erp?
Started Zoloft and noticed my loops felt more manageable (less googling/using ai) to ask the same question over and over again. Getting married tmr and feel calm not ruminating on thoughts
Today I recognized my hurt feelings around my friends is my ocd feeding me lies. I stayed grounded in the truth of the situation and I didn’t cave in to the compulsion of telling my friends when it feels like they hurt me. It’s slowly getting better I think
A co-worker was sick with a potential stomach flu (big trigger for me). But while I got home from work, I forgot about it for the rest of the evening instead of worrying and obsessing!
I had my first therapy session in years!
Got some stuff paid off for school, lot of money but feels good to have it off my mind
I am able to function in my home where I grew up without doing compulsive stuff
I was traveling in different states for about 2.5 weeks so I couldn’t talk to my usual therapist. I was constantly being triggered and felt scared because I couldn’t rely on her to help me get through it. I’m finally back home now and I feel like I’ve grown so much. I’m getting spikes here and there but I feel more confident in my ability to move through them!
I got a full night’s sleep two days in a row and whenever I got up in the middle of the night for the bathroom, I didn’t ruminate on my intrusive thoughts.
Got through a challenging night and day with OCD
I showed up, even when it was hard
I have been practicing my response prevention messages across different setting and situations and I feel like it’s coming more easily to me and I’m starting to take back some control in my life! It feels freeing and I’m hopeful! ☺️
I finished a painting 🖼 ✨️
I signed up for therapy here. I was doing CBT with Talkspace and I LOVED my therapist there but my OCD seems to be getting worse. I researched ERP and ended up here.
Today I haven’t checked on my ex girlfriends instagram page even though she blocked me 6 months ago
