I’ve been struggling a bit lately and I met with a physiatrist and they prescribed me to Zoloft, I have heard there are side effects but honestly all I want right now is the voice in my head to shut up. Any advice or comment from people who have experience with Zoloft? If so I would be very grateful! Thank you ❤️
You won't know how it will affect you personally unless you try it yourself. I had bad experiences with it- but many others say it works for them. I went through over 8 different SSRIs before realizing they don't personally help me. But everyone's experience is different and you just have to try for yourself.
Hi HoneyBearMer! I just opened the app and happened to see this! I am on Zoloft rn and it honestly has been such an amazing help so far and it rly helps me with doing erp. Honestly I say for you it’s worth a shot. It honestly depends on the person but i say go for it. The only side effect I ever experienced was dry mouth and restless legs at night. The dry mouth was very short and the restless legs was only 4 nights after I had a big increase in the dose. The rest of the time I’ve been fine. So yeah I really recommend it! I’m feeling a lot better and it rly helps in combination with therapy! (If ur curious I’m on 200mg rn)

Thanks for sharing your side effects with me. I already have restless leg syndrome, so I don’t think that’s a problem! I just really appreciate hearing I’m not alone! 😁
It was very very good for me in the past for depression and suicidal ideation, and helped with some of my physical habits from OCD. It’s been a while since I took it, but I think it helped with rumination etc.
I do, it helped me somehow, but I'm so fucked up that even a thousand pills and prescriptions couldn't save me!
So excited for you to start your Zoloft journey!! My only recommendation is to take it with food, and NOT LAYING DOWN. The heartburn can be insane!! I’ve accidentally taken it before bed and suffered the consequences!

I know everyone is different, but I have been on Zoloft for 15 years now. I truly believe it saved my life. Honestly, I was so young when I started taking it that I don’t remember having many side effects. However, my doctor prescribed small doses and we worked up to a therapeutic dose, so that could be why. I wish you the best of luck with it, you can do this!! 🤎

Disclosure - I don't have experience with Zoloft, but I did try Luvox (it worked amazing for that voice you're talking about) I couldn't tolerate the daytime drowsiness though and ended up trying Prozac (also worked wonderfully but then I started getting literal short term memory loss) then I ultimately ended up on Anafranil and it worked for me with no side effects besides being more hungry during pms week. I guess what I'm trying to say is everything is trial and error but you WILL find what works for you. Everyone is different so you might have a wonderful time with Zoloft but you'd never know unless you try. Plus it's not like it can make us OCDers any worse right 😂
