Disappointed with therapy
Hello, this is my first post here. I have been very disappointed about therapy and would like to ask for your opinions. I started going for the first time this month and I've had four 45 minute sessions, however I feel like there's not any progress at all. Before I started going, I had the most distressful OCD episode of my life, only four days before starting therapy I was able to manage it by some advice that I heard: 1. Stop debating the thoughts and 2. Don't believe your brain. My therapist in every session makes me talk about potential causes and my childhood etc. and I feel like we're not getting anywhere from there. Maybe it's too soon to judge but every time I leave I feel worse because she poses a question and I feel like I'm hanging by a thread from it and it makes me overthink even more. I haven't gotten any helpful advice from it how to deal with it etc. The only thing that's holding me is the past advice that I heard outside of therapy and the talks I've had with my sister who has suffered with OCD. What do you guys think? Is it supposed to be like that?
