Made it through a week at work without breaking down and crying in the bathroom from my terrible thoughts!
@ElenaMarceline I know what you’re going through. It’s really hard and just tell yourself you got this. I’ve been praying so much and crying and this therapy has really been helping me and I’m trying another therapist also but it has been really hard but you got this and I’m praying for you. I’m sorry you’re going through this.
always hitting at work:( glad this week looked better💪🏼🙏🏼
@ElenaMarceline Keep up the great work :)
Finally went back to my room & slept in my bed. Got 2 new kitties. Took my first official diagnostic test.
@TayBrianne1991 You got this
@TayBrianne I've been trying to do that for years and you should be really proud of yourself
I’m honestly really proud of myself 🥹❤️ I haven’t pulled my hair for 3 days now, and it feels so weird lol. 😂 But honestly, that’s a big deal for me. I’m really trying, and I’m proud of myself for making it this far. 🥺💕
I feel the same and it's really hard
@golden girl 21 That’s awesome! Great job
@Shenk Thank you🥰
I did my homework almost every day this week AND noticed it helped whenever I had to actually execute in the real work. Lots of OCD pulls, but I stayed close to center and am putting the work - before AND during.
Had a real life exposure super similar to my ERP exposure and was able to use the skills I learned effectively:)
@Ravioliii This is great! Congratulations!
that is so awesome😭 this gives me hope and im proud of you!💪🏼
@Anonymous We got this!!!
I reached OCD conqueror status! 🥳🎉🙏
@Hypervigilante Congratulations
@Anonymous Thank you!
went out w a friend that is my trigger for rocd and didnt ask for reassurance!!!! <3
Still here for what it’s worth
@TN7 It’s worth a lot. Keep on keepin on. ❤️
I had a thought about something terrible happening and I managed to not try to reason it away. And it turned out that nothing even remotely terrible happened! 🥰
Joined NOCD and start therapy next week :) also did not take myself to the hospital from panic attacks. Yay
Joining NOCD has been the beginning of a new approach to anxiety for me truly. I have also sent myself to the hospital from anxiety and dark thoughts and NOCD genuinely steered me toward the tools to take power over panic and anxiety. I am proud of you for taking the first step to seek help and I hope it gives you the help you seek🫶🏼🩷
@Anonymous Thank you. Right now, in full honesty, I feel so miserable and scared that I don’t really know how I’m functioning. I hope I can learn better tools soon.
I made it through a week of work, able to complete everything I needed to. OCD is throwing everything at me as I’m feeling super stressed as my daughter gets married next weekend. OCD can be really relentless during times of stress. But I keep doing the next right thing even if it’s uncomfortable!
@Anonymous My son got married last weekend. OCD was really bad leading up to the event and I’m still struggling. Congratulations on your daughter getting married! ❤️
Limited my reassurances method this week by a lot. I’m having a lot of anxiety around how I act when I play sports or do physical activity. Something I enjoy…of course OCD attacks what I’m passionate about.
I BECAME A OCD CONQUERER!!!
Was able to proceed w my life and stay busy and cope with stresses and being ghosted by someone I thought was a dear friend. I coped, not always well, but my best, with feeling very alone and isolated by neighbor and doubts that anyone cares for me. I’ve managed to do my work while dealing w these very difficult feelings
Started therapy. Got a long road ahead, but glad to be putting one foot in front of the other instead of shutting down.
Just moved to another state for the first time ever and so far I am not spiraling
I thought that I had eaten pork (I’m Jewish) and that I was having an allergic reaction to it because I’ve never had pork before but I managed to calm myself down Without anti-anxiety meds Or allergy meds
Was able to resist/delay some compulsions
I’ve had my fifth meeting now and like a baseball player running the first base I feel like my cleats are digging into the dirt. I feel like I’m really making a star and although I feel like I’m really just beginning the results so far I have a really given me hope.
Im still new hear, and I actually felt elated after my session today. Shared with my therapist two deep dark shame aspects (to me) that are decades old triggers and he had a pet name or expression for both. I took that information to mean I'm not alone/he has encountered both before and he said yes they are not unique. So bring it OCD! Momma said knock you out!
Got through a hard week! I also feel like my erp is getting more consistent!
I drove by the airport calmly and almost enjoyed seeing the planes.
I took my cat for a walk in a hallway I was previously afraid because of contamination from an incident that happened weeks ago now.
Refrained from confessing something to my boss. Also asked a friend to have a conversation I’ve been meaning to have
Finally made an appointment because my new insurance covers it so I can start ERP after years of struggling in other therapy programs and not being able to afford it. Made a psychiatry appointment to manage my meds. Didn’t break up with my partner even though my brain is convincing me I need to. 🥲
I did a lot of things for school, even tho they were pretty overwhelming and did one of my assignments very well.
I did a massive exercise in therapy today. It was super activating. I'm also using my ERP toolkit throughout the day when the OCD thoughts get loud. I listen to recorded scripts and that helps sit with the anxiety.
@Coati awesome job!
@Coati Congrats friend 💛
Challenged my perfectionism with my schoolwork (submitted an assignment that didnt feel totally perfect but I felt was good enough). just right OCD and perfectionism is definitely flaring up for me, and Im trying to give myself compassion as I navigate it.
I had this problem as a student too 🥲
I find that I’m less anxious when I have scary thoughts and feelings. Which is a win for sure!
I was going to buy pine tar soap at the store but found out it isn’t good to have around cats. I put it back on the shelf and felt anxious because I’d come into contact with it, but I was able to be aware of the thought, recognize it as OCD, and go on with my shopping.
My diagnostic score hit a record low!
Slept through the night!
Able to recognize that I was in an OCD loop, unable to work my way out of that
🙏👏🥰😊
I always ask for reassurance to my fiance and since yesterday I haven't even though it's bugging me inside I'm trying not to give in It's really hard though
I do the same with my husband. OCD is so sneaky that we don't even know when we do it. Kinda became a habit for me which I am trying to be self aware to resist.
@Anonymous I totally understand my friend.. OCD is so sneaky.. It's been now the second on third day that I haven't asked him anything I mean reassurance and we have more peace and no fighting I'm hoping that I can continue in the same way
I went to a mental health support group for the first time as there are no OCD groups local to me in the UK. I'm now going on a trip to Italy to watch AC Milan play football at the San Siro which is something I've always wanted to do.
@F1ANDY93 That’s awesome! Congratulations!!!
I finally told my friend how I was actually feeling, even with ocd’s constant nagging what ifs of my friend getting angry and leaving me. I also named my ocd Francine
@Spooderman12 Mine is Martha, hence the username 😋
I got the flu and more or less didnt over analyze it, feels like less than last time I was sick
I resisted seeking reassurance, despite the urge being present
Had a breakdown this week and felt I lost all the progress I made. I am so tired of everything but I made it through this week.
I went to a friends birthday brunch for her pup (he turned 2) and I didn’t know majority of the people there, and I survived :)
