Buy food that’s easy to make so it takes the pressure off cooking Maybe get things like pre chopped veg to save you prepping as much? Or buy things like fresh soup you only have to beat up either in a microwave or on the stove? Microwave rice and stir some pesto in is what I do when I seriously can’t be bothered too lol ? and also things like fruit you don’t even have to prepare you just pick it up and yeah it might not be a meal, but you’re still eating something!! Get enough water too ? I tend to do grocery shopping at night when it’s quiet roads to drive on, barely any people in the supermarket and it’s quicker and less stressful. More peaceful too! Make shopping lists at home and just get in get on get out With tidying the house, I do that thing called box tidying - get a box or washing basket, put anything that’s on the floor or clutter etc in the box. It makes the place look instantly tidier and less daunting to actually put the things inside the box away. Tidy place makes you mentally feel better too, surroundings make more of a different than you think. Even when you’re asleep!!

I’ve never heard of box tidying! What a good idea. Even if I just did one room a day, that’d make a big difference. ? Yeah, I guess I need to lower my expectations of what feeding myself looks like for a while. I’m making it too difficult.

If you can’t get it all done, make a 3 task list It’s less intimidating to look at, and hey three tasks done is better than none!! Also I fucking HATE doing dishes - I start by thinking ok, I’ll do just 5 dishes or cups etc, when I’ve done five I feel more able to do another, and maybe even finish them Even if you don’t get them all done, some is better than none ? don’t be hard on yourself

I love this dishes idea! I’m not so bad with dishwasher safe items, but the ones to do by hand I just can’t bring myself to stay standing and do. 5 though... I can make it through 5!

Grab some Ensure from your local grocery store/pharmacy. It is a nutritional drink that provides your body with some basic needs for the day. Although this is not enough, it is better than nothing.

I just realized I can use curbside pickup for free with my local Kroger, and that helps a lot! I think the Walmart offers the same. So, I can do the shopping while sitting down at home, drive a few minutes to the store, and not having to walk throughout the store to pick out/up all my groceries. This helps enormously on days like today where I wake up feeling weak and tired!

Hi! I’m new to the NOCD community, but I’ve been dealing with OCD since I was 12. I’m almost 29 now, and my biggest issue is health anxiety. It’s gotten to the point where getting work done is nearly impossible because i can’t stop spiraling. I’m lucky that i work remotely, but also makes it easier to be in my own head… Asking for advice - how do you all deal with the intense anxiety and are able to make it through a 9-5 work day? Any suggestions on how I can actually be productive? Thank you!

Having a bit of an interesting time lately, feeling like I am on a roller coaster because every day has been a bit different. Yesterday was a pretty good day, my anxiety was low and intrusive thoughts were easier to work past. What I noticed was although anxiety was low, I still felt overwhelmed by thoughts sporadically throughout the evening. This morning I had some intense feelings after waking up, but find myself almost in the same place again. Any tips or tricks that have worked for you on managing through thoughts with low anxiety?

I’m trying to get in with therapy right now, but I’m most concerned on having issues with not eating. Intrusive thoughts and anxiety make me nauseous and distracted from eating. It took me an hour last night to eat instant ramen. Does anyone know what I could do about this? I’m only eating around 1 meal a day and I’m afraid of how this could affect me medically.
