Amazing news, truly heartwarming! Did you see a therapist to help you accept your thoughts?

What do you mean by accepting my thoughts?

@twicedouble Accepting thoughts means to sit with them and not let them affect you instead of fighting the thoughts. For example I’ll have an intrusive thoughts about harming my family but I won’t let it affect me. I’ll just say, so what if I do and go about my day. My thoughts don’t ultimately mean I’ll do the action is what I realized

@ocdmaybe Oh okay. I understand. Yeah, I’ve never done anything like that. My therapist didn’t even know I had OCD until a few weeks ago. There was some kind of mistake during my initial intake.

@twicedouble If you get the job please let me know. I’d love for NOCD to help get you effective therapy. We have therapists and can help ensure you only pay what’s financially affordable to you. I’d hate for your ocd to hold you back from succeeding in your job.

@ocdmaybe Can I ask why you didn’t see an ocd therapist instead? It doesn’t seem professional that your current therapsit didn’t diagnose you properly. A lot of therapists don’t recognize ocd and it makes it so hard for us to get help!

@ocdmaybe Well I’m on Medicare currently. And it’s not that she didn’t diagnose me. She didn’t know that I had already been diagnosed because it was ommited from my initial interview. It wasn’t her fault. I didn’t go to an OCD specialist because I’d have to travel quite a bit to get to one. I have no way to drive myself, my car is broken and I need to get money to fix it. Currently my mom is driving me everywhere.
