i’d say it’s perfectly reasonable, but maybe phrase it in a way that you tell her why it is so distressing for you and say it’s preventing your ability to take it with the knowledge it’s for your benefit??

I think it’s reasonable too. A lot of drugs have weight-gain side effects. I was on risperidone for a while but went off of it because of weight gain concerns.

Thank you all so, so much! I’m going to speak to my doctors today :) @LaPink My psychiatrist was tossing up whether to put me on Olanzapine or Aripiprazole so I’m most likely going to switch to that. Does it make you eat uncontrollably? Thanks for your input by the way :)) I hope you’re well! d a i s y

Hi Daisy! I work as a body image educator, and I also struggle with weight gain obsessive/restrictive thoughts. I think it’s important you take which medication is going to work best for your brain, but also ask your therapist or doctor about eating disorder counseling. Very similar to OCD treatments but with a focus on relationships with food, I bet it could be a lot of help. Best wishes and much love~
